We had a strong turnout, especially from non-music majors and amateur musician, including some who came because of anime music Hagan Wong, which made the atmosphere very open and welcoming. I also offered free entry and worked closely with the church to support this idea of accessibility and community.
In total, we had over 50 people attending. It also generated unexpected interest from other musicians who asked about renting the church venue for their own performances, which is very encouraging for future collaborations.
The priority of our concert series is to support the church’s outreach, serve the local Christian community, welcome more people into the church, and provide opportunities for people to enjoy and engage with live music in a meaningful way. That’s we are discuss between Phil, Colin, and I
On top of that, a local councillor who is a friend of mine attended and has been supportive, which has helped bring some wider community and potential local government attention to the project. Thank you for Nelson Yum, our Appointed Piano Technician and ex-piano owner.
Overall, it felt like a very positive first step.
