What a georgeous idea for old jigsaws!

🍁💛 Use old, random puzzle pieces to make a unique fall tree keepsake 🌳✨️ just paint the back of each piece, cut out a handprint design from cardstock paper for the "trunk" and then glue/decorate it with the painted puzzle pieces to make the "leaves" 🤎🎃

The latest bags made by a prisoner in HMP High Down using fabrics, handles, webbing all from Squirrels.
This will all be used to raise funds for Animal Charities. Aren't they fab?

🌰 Scrunched Tissue Paper Acorns! 🍂 Scrunch little pieces of autumn-coloured tissue paper and glue them onto a simple cardboard acorn for a lovely textured craft that’s perfect for little hands! 🧡

❤️ Welcome Back to Squirrels! Reopening September 1st ❤️

During the summer closure our team has been hard at work behind the scenes sorting through our stock and we will reopen on Tuesday, September 1st.

Where to find us:
The Old Allotment Hut, 131 Boscombe Road, Worcester Park, KT4 8PJ

When to find us:
We are open on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:30 AM until 3:30 PM.

As a community scrap store, we thrive on your support, your smiles, and your incredible passion for turning clean waste into amazing projects. Whether you are prepping a classroom for the new term or looking for materials for a particular craft project, we have resources waiting for you.

We would be grateful for donations of wallpaper and wool as our stocks of those are low at the moment. Please message us if you can help us with this as we have limited storage space.

This lovely lady, a big supporter of Squirrels and a friend of mine through my ladies group, passed away this week. She never missed a chance to share our posts and promote us, she was always interested in how the store was managing and always offered help where she could advertising the work that we do by passing info to others and making sure as many people as possible knew about us. She will be sadly missed by many. Thoughts go out to her family. Sleep peacefully Marian and thank you. ⚘️- Barbara xx

Remembering Marian James

Former Sutton councillor Marian James died peacefully at her home on Wednesday evening (15 July 2026), surrounded by her family.

Marian James was awarded Freedom of the Borough on Monday, 13 July 2026.

Do you make children's clothes? We have had a donation of stretch cotton jersey fabric, which is 95% cotton, 5% lycra. There are large pieces, as well as some smaller pieces, which would make small skirts or shorts, or the fronts of t- shirts.

Don't forget that we are opening & closing earlier than usual tomorrow, due to the predicted very high temperature. We'll only be open from 9.30 till 12.30 on Thursday, July 9th.
