I know what it feels like to operate beyond my capacity.
I’ve lived the consequences of ignoring my limits, pushing through exhaustion, and convincing myself that I could carry just a little bit more.
Looking back, my breakdown in 2020 wasn’t a surprise.
It was the inevitable outcome of years of overriding what my body, mind and nervous system had been trying to tell me.
The exhaustion wasn’t sudden, and neither was the burnout or the disconnection.
They were the result of hundreds of moments where I chose productivity over rest, responsibility over myself, and “I’ll deal with it later” over listening.
That’s one of the reasons I’m so passionate about the work I do today. Because most people don’t burn out overnight, they burn out one ignored signal at a time.
One boundary crossed at a time. One act of self-abandonment at a time.
But the good news?
Recovery happens in exactly the same way.
