September is fast becoming the new start of the new year for many business owners I know.
After taking time off over the summer so many ideas have been thought of, reflections have been made about changes or pivots within business and you are eager to get back to routine, but you’ve almost forgotten you have your typical workload to come back to too.
This is your reminder that you do not need to rush back in to it all!
This is the part where I see business owners trip themselves up. You come back and immediately try to squeeze everything in to your diary…
Back‑to‑back meetings. No breaks. No white space. Just a lot of pressure!
And by mid September, you’re wondering why you feel foggy, overwhelmed and already behind again with no time to implement the changes you thought of over the summer.
Here’s the truth I see every day supporting founders.
You don’t need to rush back. You need to ease back in with intention.
This week & next, give yourself:
• A short list of genuine non‑negotiables & only work on those
• Space to think, not just react (lots of white space in your diary)
• Allow your workload to settle naturally rather than forcing it into an unrealistic timeframe
If you’ve had some time away this summer, enjoy the fact that you’ve had the break. Now give yourself the space to return well.
And if coming back has reminded you just how much you’re trying to juggle, pop in to my DM’s and tell me what’s taking up your time. There might be something we can take off your plate.
