Bandit Music workshop A Music Workshop for Young People - Form A Band - Compose A Song - Perform A Gig - Band-IT

25/02/2026

Froggy adores music and would love nothing more than to play in a band with other frogs! But which instrument should he choose?
If only there was a fun, educational music project where he could play in a band with other frogs, write a song and perform it at an exciting live music venue, all with support from experienced music teachers!
Luckily for Froggy, Bandit 39 is coming up and he can do all of those things.
Book now before Froggy and his little amphibious mates take all of the spaces...

The dates are 30th & 31st March, 1st & 2nd April. Tuition is at Maidenhill School and the final performance is at The Sub Rooms, Stroud.

We’ve only got 5 places left for Bandit 38 http://www.banditmusicprojects.co.uk/

BandiT is a four-day songwriting and band workshop for 50–60 students aged 8 to 17. Young people from across the community come together to form bands, write songs, and perform. The primary aim of the workshop is to give young people from all backgrounds the opportunity to gain experience in musicianship, creative songwriting, and performance skills.

Alongside the music workshop, we also provide 5–10 places for older students to gain work experience in teaching, musicianship, event management, stage management, live sound, PA setup, and lighting.

🎸 Bandit 38: Ghost Stories – Final Call! 👻

We’ve only got 10 places left and just two weeks to go until Bandit 38 kicks off at Maidenhill School (27th–30th October)!

A massive thank-you to everyone who’s already signed up — it’s shaping up to be a brilliant project. If you haven’t sent in your application yet, now’s the time! You can find the form and all the details here:

💷 The cost is £110 per student — if you’ve not yet paid, please send it through soon so we can confirm your place and get the register finalised.

We’re also really excited to announce our guest speakers:
🎤 Monday, 11am – Gabriel Dylan (check out his work here: Home | Gabriel Dylan Author
)
🎸 Tuesday – Kevin Howlett, sharing his rollercoaster journey through the performing arts world — from BBC Radio 1 airplay and European tours to working on the Man Brooking Awards and projects with BBC and Channel 4. He’ll also break down two songs to explore structure and form in song writing.

Both talks will be around 30 minutes long — a great chance for everyone to take a break from rehearsals and soak up some creative inspiration.

Final performance tickets (30th October) will be available directly from The Sub Rooms box office or on the door before 8pm — please note we’re not selling tickets at Maidenhill this time.

Thanks again for all your amazing support — we can’t wait to see everyone for another fantastic Bandit!

Dear All,

I hope you’re all keeping well. I’m writing with some exciting news about Bandit 38: Ghost Stories, taking place on the 27th–30th October 2025 at Maidenhill School, Stonehouse.

We may have now confirmed Gabriel Dylan as our guest speaker for the project! Gabriel is a fantastic author, and it will be brilliant for the students to hear about his creativity and career journey — especially linked to our spooky “ghost stories” theme. I’ll share more details once everything is finalised.

So far, we already have 33 students enrolled, which is amazing — thank you to everyone who has sent in applications. If you haven’t yet applied, please do so soon to secure a place. The application form can be found on both the Bandit Music Projects website and at longtrainride.co.uk.

Please also help us spread the word — the more the merrier (or should I say scarier!) for this Halloween-themed project.

Looking forward to seeing you all in October.

Kindest regards,
Kevin Howlett

Hoping you are all having a great summer!
We are now ready to start accepting application forms for Bandit 38: Ghost Stories. Please use the link below — the application form can be found on http://www.banditmusicprojects.co.uk/ and at https://longtrainride.co.uk/.
As Bandit 38 takes place so close to Halloween, the theme will be Ghost Stories. We’re hoping for some wonderfully creepy, scary, and interesting songs. We may also have a very exciting guest speaker lined up for the project — I’ll keep you updated on that!
Here is another fantastic poster from James Lapidge. Please feel free to share it.
