The Orkney Blues Festival Committee would like to thank everyone who came along to our inaugural Orkney Blues Cruise and Bike show.
We were overwhelmed by the turn out on the day, and are delighted that we had over 70 bikes lined up along Ferry Road, which was amazing to see. Along with the fantastic array of young musicians keeping the crowd entertained, giving Stromness a real festival atmosphere on Sunday afternoon.
A huge thank you goes to our sponsors, without whom the event could not have gone ahead; The Ferry Inn, Cooke Scotland, McAdie & Reeve and Pentland Ferries.
Monies raised from entry fees, buckets and online donations came to a phenomenal total of £1237.00! Which has been divided between our two fantastic charities Poppyscotland and Soma’s Light SCIO. We encourage you to please look into the work both charities do and learn about their amazing impact in and around the community, we are very proud to support these hard working volunteers in Orkney.
Finally, we sense a real desire for the Blues Cruise to return in 2027, keep an eye on Blues Festival socials for updates throughout the year.
