They might be tiny, but there’s a LOT happening in these classes. 🥹💕

For some children, it’s their very first class. Their first teacher. Their first little dance friends. Maybe even their first experience of doing something independently from their grown-up. ✨

That’s why our Toddler & Tinies classes are about so much more than learning dance steps.

We play. We imagine. We build confidence. We navigate big feelings. We celebrate little victories. We make memories together. And, somewhere amongst all of that, they learn to dance too. 🩰🥰

If you’re learning Grand Plié, save this video and come back to practise along with us at home.

There’s more happening in a Grand Plié than simply bending and straightening the knees. We’re thinking about turnout, alignment, posture, control and coordinating the movement of the heels, all at the same time. 👀

The secret? Slow, careful practice and LOTS of repetition. 💕

“My daughter looks forward to her lesson every week.” 🥹💕

There are few things we love hearing more than this.

We want our students to make progress and develop strong dance and performance skills, but we also want Theative to be somewhere they genuinely LOVE coming to each week. ✨

And apparently weekly classes aren’t quite enough for this particular dancer, because she loves joining us for the holiday camps too! 😂💕

What makes you happy? 💕

For us, it looks a little bit like this.

Performing together. That proud feeling after an exam. Laughing so much in class that you almost forget you’re supposed to be learning. Getting to dance ourselves. And the little high fives and everyday moments that remind us why we love doing what we do. 🥹✨

Not every special moment in dance happens under a spotlight. Sometimes it’s the smallest ones that stay with you.

Dance gives us a lot to be happy about. 💗

Bring-a-Bestie Week is officially here and we can’t WAIT to meet all the friends joining us in class! ✨

There’s something extra lovely about getting to show your bestie what you do at dance every week, especially when you finally get to dance together. 🥹

If you’ve already booked your friend in, tag them below! 👇💕

And if you haven’t yet, there may still be time. Bestie places are limited, must be booked in advance by their parent, and friends need to join the class for their correct age group.

Oh, and remember… if your bestie decides to become a Theative student afterwards, you BOTH get £10! 🎉✨

⭐ This week’s Starlight Award goes to one of our wonderful Juniors! ⭐

We were incredibly impressed by the effort and focus she brought to both her Ballet and Tap classes this week. 💕

What really stood out was her determination to listen carefully to feedback and put corrections into practice.

In Tap, she made a particularly impressive breakthrough with something she’d been working on for some time. She listened to the correction, made the adjustment and the improvement was almost immediate! 👞✨

Moments like these are so rewarding to see as a teacher, because they show just how much progress can happen when a dancer really engages with their learning.

It’s not always about getting everything right. Sometimes the biggest achievement is being willing to try something differently, even when it’s challenging.

Such a well-deserved Starlight Award. We’re incredibly proud of you! 🌟👏

Teaching ballet to toddlers and preschoolers is a very specific kind of experience. 😂🩰

You arrive with a beautifully planned lesson.

They arrive with… other ideas. 👀😂

Somehow amongst all the excitement, giggles and tiny people doing entirely unexpected things, we manage to squeeze in a surprising amount of ballet too. 💕

And honestly? We wouldn’t want it any other way. ✨

When you’re SO close… and you decide to try one more time. 💪✨

One of the most valuable things children can learn in class has nothing to do with whether they actually nail the skill that day.

It’s learning to wobble, come down, reset and try again.

Progress can be messy. It can take lots of attempts. Sometimes you get frustratingly close before it finally clicks.

But every attempt teaches you something. 💕

Keep going. You’re closer than you think. ✨

From 12th to 17th October, our dancers can bring a friend along to experience a little bit of Theative magic with them. 💕
