On Saturday 05th September, Shakespeare Morris of Stratford-upon-Avon will be dancing from 09:20 onwards around and near Coxs Yard to celebrate the 200th Anniversary of the Stratford to Moreton Tramway.

We will be starting at 09:20 at the Fireman’s Memorial before dancing between speeches up near the Tramway waggon near Coxs Yard. As a procession leads off we’ll be back by the Fireman’s Memorial to do a final dance.

Pop along to see us and celebrate Warwickshire’s first railway!

Come along and learn Cotswold Morris in September!

Shakespeare Morris of Stratford-upon-Avon are hosting a 3-week FREE workshop open to anyone looking to learn to dance or play for Cotswold Morris dancing.

You will be learning dances from the local village of Bidford-on-Avon, which were revived in 1886 by D’Arcy Ferris (1855 - 1929), a pageants organiser from Bath. The Bidford dances turn 140 years old in 2026 and so why not come along and be apart of the history!

Comfortable clothing and shoes are advised and we will provide everything you need, just bring yourself and have a go on Monday 14/21/28th September, 8-10pm at The Rosebird Community Hall, Shipston Road, CV37 8LU.

Thank you to everyone who came out to watch us on the Bancroft Gardens last night.

Despite low numbers we had an enjoyable time- our Bagman and Fool danced a double jig, Shepherds Hey from Headington, albeit two slightly different versions!

Join us on Monday 17th August at OAK HOUSE Social CLUB, 87 Upper Holly Walk, Leamington Spa, CV32 4JS - upstairs function room, for a Cotswold Morris workshop and learn the dances from Bidford-on-Avon!

Shakespeare Morris of Stratford-upon-Avon are known as the “Keeper’s of the Bidford-on-Avon Tradition”, a set of dances collected in the late 19th century and was also home to the “Shakespearean Bidford Morris Dancers” from 1886 until the early 1910s which was revived by D’Arcy Ferris, a pageants organiser.

In 2026, we celebrate the 140th anniversary of the revival of the Bidford dances and now we need you to help us continue the tradition.

Well we’ve had a cracking day!

Thank you to the 17 morris sides who came to Stratford today for our 3rd Day of Dance! Across the town the sounds of Morris entertained and delighted the crowds of people and thank you to all who raised money for the The Shakespeare Hospice, once it’s been counted up we’ll reveal the total!

Thank you as well to the Mayor of Stratford-upon-Avon for attending in her official capacity and Emma Melville, Squire of the Morris Ring for being our MC at the Swan Fountain at the end of the day.

A final thanks to our Bagman for solely organising the event and making sure it all ran to time- Well done Harald.
