📢Calling all our local makers, designers & foodie people
Applications for THE WINTER SUNSET MARKET will close on 18th September at 12noon

We've had some amazing applications from our talented community so far, including knitwear, crochet, candles, bath and beauty products, photography, textiles, seasonal garlands, gluten free goodies, ceramics, jewellery and painting.

We still have room for more!! So far we have no woodwork, pet items, macrame or I'm sure there's loads of amazing things we haven't even thought of so let us know what fantastic craft or food you produce.

Share or tag a friend who may be interested. If you would like to register your interest in joining us this year please send us an email on [email protected], we'll send you all the details and an application form

We will return to The Den again this year (The Melmount Centre, Melmount Rd, Strabane) on Fri 4th December from 5-9pm.
🎄We will have musician Paul Cassidy providing some ambient music creating a festive atmosphere, with a seated area if you want to take 5mins from shopping, listen in & have a cuppa 🎼
🎄Skilled traditional makers providing interactive demos, keeping old traditions alive and passing on skills
🎄Space for 30 traders/makers
🎄Of course no event is complete without Santa and space for family photo opportunities!🎅

We would love to hear from all quality makers, artists, designers & foodies (with some space outside for food trucks). Tables are £25, spaces are limited so there will be an application process and criteria to meet. We want to ensure there is a broad selection of crafts for visitors and allow each maker to have a good chance of sales for their chosen craft.

All of the products must be;

👉 Hand-made by the maker & of their own design
👉 Show a high level of skill in design & manufacture
👉 Finished to a high standard
👉With each maker required to have Public Liability insurance and food certification if applicable.

We look forward to hearing from you & save the date in your diary! See our event page to keep up with all the details

Fantastic idea folks...all our designers, makers and artists a great way to pick up some supplies or donate items you no longer need (Be honest...how many of us are guilty of saying "but I'll use that someday" and its been on our craft shelf for 6 six years 😂😂)

⭐Get ready! We've landed on a date for our 3rd Craft Swap as part of our mission to tackle waste and in partnership with the team at Artitude Project !

👉The main aim here is to keep materials in circulation, so if you have started a project and didn't finish it or you are planning to get creative ahead of autumn and winter, or maybe you're already mapping out your Halloween costume, this event is for you!

🤩There is MORE than enough to go around and you don't actually need to swap to benefit because our community has already donated so many fabulous fabrics, crafting tools, craft paper, materials and more!

💚Take what you need donate what you can. Our free event will save you from buying new, so you can also stock up on some supplies for your next project.

Swing by, fill a bag and share your crafty plans with the community.

📌 Friday 18th September

Interesting in joining us to develop a men's group full of activities that you have helped to plan?

Open to 18 and upwards, we want to have an intergenerational group that can learn from each other, support each other and make connections. If all you want to do some weeks is sit have a cuppa and a chat then that's ok too!

Send us a message let us know if you want to come along on our first session, we'll just be having a relaxed session to find out what you'd like to do and how we can make it happen. Feel free to tag and share with any groups, organisations or individuals that you think might be interested

Through our PEACEPLUS changemaker project CRAFT, we want to connect people locally and cross-border through people-to-people creative workshops, activities and events that bring people together, build relationships and contribute to the social and civic cohesion of communities in our town of Strabane. Establishing a weekly men and women’s group is one of our objectives, we have the venue, now we just need you & your ideas!

VENUE: Strabane Library // Room 4
(Days/times as per image below)
Send us your name & contact details to add to the list.**

Our goal is to create a neutral creative space which has no alliance with any particular political or religious belief, benefiting all members of our community. A place to socialise together, bring along your own craft if you want to and have 2 hours of just being you! If all you want is to have a cuppa and a chat, then that’s ok too. We’ll put on the kettle, you bring the conversation!

We would love to see the groups take the lead on how they shape themselves, deciding on the activities that they want to do each week, with our help we can seek more funding to run creative workshops. (Our craft collective members have a fantastic skill set in teaching crafts, we can organise craft sessions depending on your interests.) We are currently working with the library staff to establish reading clubs and creative writing sessions. We have resources available like crafting sets, tools & retro games that will all be available for use to the clubs. The ideas are endless, and we want you to build a group you want to attend every week.

People are social creatures by nature. Our relationships with family, friends, coworkers, and community members are important to our survival. Supportive relationships give us the tools we need to cope with stressful life challenges. Social interaction can combat loneliness, reduces stress, and helps manage mental health conditions like anxiety and depression, it is a natural mood booster. When we connect with others, our brains release endorphins - the brain chemicals that relieve pain, reduce stress, and improve mood - what more reason do you need to join up!

**(We will be limited to numbers due to the capacity the room can hold. Number TBC)
