Warm like a hug,
it is the cheerful welcome
of early morning sun.
A new day has begun.
Grey clouds fade,
into a blue sky parade.
Look what the Lord has made.
Look what the Lord has done.
Breeze picks up,
and sudden change occurs.
Raindrops fall on earth,
temporarily transforming the scene,
from what it had been.
Until once again,
a band of blue,
on centre stage underscores
and draws
the sounds of joy,
as sunshine warms hearts and lives,
blooming gardens win a prize,
and fresh linen adorns washing lines,
and everything in our world seems fine;
in the ebb and flow
of another British summertime.
