Seamstress services 🌹
I see lots of posts about the cost of bridal alterations - mostly saying how extortionate they are, or my favourite “if you put wedding in front of it the price increases”
An experienced and professional bridal seamstress is worth her weight in wine gums! (My favourite) A skilled and creative mind, nimble fingers and often tired eyes that keep on going, through the heat, night, and day. Permanent shoulder pain, back ache, sore fingers and a new phenomenon- glitter on the lungs (I’ve made that bit up - but time will tell)
I see people saying that “minimum wage x time” should make an alteration cheaper. And it saddens me so much, that some women think other skilled women should not be valued for their time and effort and obvious dedication to their craft.
I can not imagine a world where a skilled electrician, mechanic or rekki expert was expected to work for minimum wage and had people disparaging their skill and dismissing their talents, and not wanting them to earn a decent wage. Imagine after a hard day at work and your boss or customer took to social media and said they didn’t value you and thought you not worth what you were being paid. This is not confined to Seamstresses only - hair and make-up-artists, florist, venue dressers often get disparaged online. They too have early starts, travel time and preparation time and equipment to buy.
Seamstresses this week are in full flow, often in the heat, pulling ridiculous long hours to meet our needs and deadlines, and are sometimes asked to perform miracles, which they always do !
I’ve spent many hours over the years with my beautiful seamstress Julia, coming up With impossible ideas, that she turned into something incredible and real. I’ve never underestimated the skill and creative ability to bring my ideas to life, and I’ll never ever understand why it’s ok to devalue a seamstress. They rock, they roll and they are Everything!
With AI now being an every day staple for so many brides, wedding dress images of dresses that don’t exist yet are often brought in, We can now bring them from concept to reality.
That is a skill that blows me away! We have helped many brides create their dream dress over the years , and with advancing technology a couple of brides recently have had their dream dress made from ai images - with the help of our amazing real life humans, who have worked so hard to achieve perfection❤️. This is an amazing opportunity to create your own gown and the vision and skill to achieve this is truly incredible!
