Well boys and girls, SGTK is not dead (yet). After 7 years, maybe we can resurrect this beast. Radio is no longer possible but who would be interested in a podcast? There are so many records on my shelf which are crying to be played and maybe we could all go down memory lane and go through a record or two.

Hello everyone! It's nearly time for another show, you ready? I am aware I haven't uploaded last week's playlist or 7" of the week, but uni work is always very unpleasant indeed. Anyway, as it proved to be very nice and great fun to have Sophia on air last week, she'll be back again this week. So make sure to tune in tomorrow night from 10pm!

MAZE - Dentro Di Noi (1991)

Released by Inaudito Dischi, this 7" was the only release by the band for more than 18 years. Despite this, the band achieved a great deal of success in the Italian hardcore scene in general and in their native Milan in particular, where they were hailed as one of the most important bands of the city's scene in the 1990s.

Unsurprisingly then, many consider this release to be a 'Milan hardcore sound' standard, displaying all the typical characteristics that had put the city on the Italian hardcore map from the very beginning of its spread in the early 1990s. It is fast paced music, as one would expect from hardcore, but it retains a great deal of melody and well structured lyrics in Italian.

Dear boys and girls, it's with regret that I announce to you that there won't be a show tomorrow night. I had it all prepared and had some interesting stuff to play for you, but sadly feeling quite ill and not in the right shape to be heading down to the studio. I am really sorry about that, but hopefully the application for the next broadcasting block will be successful and I'll be back next week!

Rot In Hell/Moloch split (2011)

This 7" is a showcase of two of the best UK bands in the genre, it features a track by each band.

On the one hand Rot In Hell deliver an excellently executed piece of Integrity-esque metallic hardcore, proving why Deatwish Inc., one of the biggest labels in hardcore, felt they should release the band's second LP.

On the other hand Moloch deliver a groovy sludge metal corker with a 'southern' flavour to it. The Eyehategod comparison is quite obvious in this case and many might write off Moloch as a copy, albeit a very good one, on account of this track. This would, however, be a great mistake because Moloch's overall output is extremely varied and of great quality. Moloch is probably one of the best heavy bands in the UK, on par with Electric Wizard but because of their very DIY approach to making and releasing music they are yet to receive the accolade they truly deserve.

The 7" was released by East Midlands label Feast Of Tentacles, probably one of the best DIY hardcore labels in the country. With an impressive back catalogue of bands, this is a label that consistently releases music of the best quality showcasing the best hardcore talent in the UK.

Hello lovely people! Have you had a good week-end? Show #3 is ready and I am quite looking forward to unleash something different upon you tomorrow night. Let's say that the main theme will be set by a band that posthumously released an album about a caravan crossing the Holy Land to deliver a very special cargo. Who can guess the band?

JUDGE - New York Crew (1988)

Released by legendary hardcore label, Revelation Records, it's a true hardcore classic and an essential record of the NYHC scene. It represents the bridge between the heavier more metal oriented NYHC sound of the mid-to-late 1980s and the then exploding faster youth crew scene, that would define the NYHC in the period between the end of the 1980s and the start of the 1990s.

Indeed, whereas musically it is a heavier and more metal-oriented, lyrically it has a lot of the themes more associated with the earlier youth crew scene with themes such as friendship, respect and 'the crew'. Musically think of Cro-Mags and lyrically think of Youth Of Today, mix the two together and you get Judge. An instant classic!

Originally released in 1988, it has been re-pressed and re-issued by Revelation Records three times. Despite this the 'newer' re-releases are still not that easy to come by and often first presses of this record can sell for very high amounts among hardcore-oriented record collectors.
