Every so often, serendipity happens and, for me, it did on holiday last week. I woke just before dawn, looked out of the window and saw this lovely view over Swansea Bay, towards the Mumbles lighthouse. I had to take a photo, despite the unearthly hour, and I'm so pleased with this image that I've just ordered a framed print for my personal collection.

It is unusual for the blue of the sky to so closely match the blue of the sea and it makes the land appear to be floating between the sea and the sky.

Here is my latest painting of one of the Yorkshire Terriers that I showed in my last post, together with the original photo so you don't have to find that post. I am working on a video of the painting process which should be uploaded in the next few days.

I am sorry that I have been quiet since Crufts. My excuse is that I contracted COVID-19 at the show and it has taken 3 weeks to get over it.

One of the successful aspects of Crufts for me was the interest people showed in the prints I have for sale of various breeds of dog. However, people asked for a number of breeds that I haven't yet painted. In fact I made a list of 31 different breeds that were requested. As I recover, I want to start painting that list and I thought that I would start with Terriers. There are a number on the list - Jack Russell, Yorkshire, Norfolk, Lakeland, Airedale, Australian Silky and Biewer ( a polish breed).

What do you think of these photos of Yorkshire Terriers? Which would you prefer me to paint? I could paint either or both of the pair in one of the photos. Please comment below with your preference.

Crufts day 2 complete and a brilliant day too. Border Collies were showing today and, as I have fond childhood memories of this breed, I thought I would post two different paintings done from the same photo.

So day 1 of Crufts is over. Irish Setters were one of the breeds showing today, so I thought it would be appropriate to show my painting of this handsome breed.

By the time this post is released I will have built my stand and be all ready for the first day of Crufts. This little guy seemed an appropriate way to mark the occasion. S/he is a Papillon, also known as a Continental Toy Spaniel. I must admit I prefer the name Papillon - those ears certainly look like the wings of a butterfly.
