Results from a recent Collage workshop.

Using an 'automatic writing' piece as a starting point; students explored the aspects of a good marriage, muscular tendons, bathing and drinking, foggy weather, losing their bearings, nasal and metallic clanging....and of course 'THE GREAT TROCHANTER'

Midlands based artist, Barnaby Goode, has been a part of the creative industries for 23 years. Working as a graphic designer and lecturer for 13 years. He is an experienced arts course leader and art director. He is now associated with the creation and presentation of abstract artworks. Exhibiting a variety of work at the London Art Fair and also the ‘Future of Craft’ on the Southbank. His work is not restrained by any particular medium. He remains open to the organic orientation of the artistic process through exploration of the chosen materials.

His other passion lies in health and fitness, with a focus on movement. He is a qualified personal trainer. He has led movement flow classes and developed personalised exercise programs for clients. This unique fusion of experiences enables him to craft and lead unique learning opportunities. His sessions are designed to engage and empower both the individual and the collective.

Collage’ is a process of reimagining existing images. Using photographs, cutouts from books and magazines to create a fresh visual perspective.

You will have the opportunity to construct hand generated images. The process is very stimulating. The results are immediate and have a crude aesthetic. Many students say they ‘lose themselves’ during the creative process. An indulgent immersion into one’s own mind. Synchronised with the visual projection of the artwork itself. In this respect, creating collages has therapeutic benefits.
