We’re proud to share an update from our Artistic Director, Andrew McNicol, who is taking part in the prestigious Oxford Cultural Leaders programme – an inspiring network focussed on learning, collaboration and leadership development.

“A truly inspiring, insightful and unforgettable experience. I’m hugely grateful to have had the opportunity to learn and exchange with an amazing cohort of cultural leaders from around the world in the stunning surroundings and history of Oxford. Thank you to OCL for creating a dynamic space for ideas, challenges and meaningful exchange to take place. (I never thought I would conduct an Oxford Choir!) Excited for all that is to come!”

A work that explores connection, transformation, and the quiet power of movement - Moonbend remains one of McNicol Ballet Collective’s most evocative works.

We are delighted to share that our Artistic Director, Andrew McNicol, has been selected to join Oxford Cultural Leaders — a prestigious international programme created by the University of Oxford, Saïd Business School and the Gardens, Libraries and Museums (GLAM).

Bringing together senior cultural professionals from around the world, the programme explores bold ideas, new models of leadership, and collaborative approaches to the challenges facing the arts and culture sector today.

Andrew says:
“I’m thrilled to be joining Oxford Cultural Leaders and to be part of an inspiring network of individuals who are shaping the future of the cultural sector. This is a wonderful opportunity to learn, share and reflect on how the arts can continue to enrich and connect our communities.”

We couldn’t be prouder to see Andrew represent McNicol Ballet Collective within this remarkable international community of cultural leaders.

🌙 to the mesmerising world of Moonbend — a dreamlike work from our 5th Anniversary Tour set to the music of Perfume Genius.

Evocative, intimate and full of quiet tension, Moonbend pulled audiences into its moonlit world of shifting forms and fleeting connection.

Thank you to our brilliant dancers and creative team for bringing this luminous piece to life.

to the haunting beauty of Of Silence — premiered in 2021 and brought back to the stage as part of our 5th Anniversary Tour.

This powerful meditation on stillness and strength took on new resonance in London, where we were joined live on stage by the remarkable Voces8 Scholars choral ensemble.

An unforgettable meeting of movement and music — thank you to all who shared in these special performances.

to the electrifying energy of Bates Beats — first premiered in 2021 and back in full force as part of our 5th Anniversary Tour.

A bold, rhythmic celebration of music and movement, this piece continues to light up the stage with its pulse and precision.

Huge thanks to our phenomenal dancers and creative team for keeping the beat alive — and to our audiences for dancing with us every step of the way.
