I attended a great evening at Chelmsford Speakers Club last night!

I'm really pleased to have been awarded Best Table Topics Speaker. It was my first time winning the award, plus I had no filler words or sounds, so was super pleased with that 😀

I'm commited to carry on at Toastmasters. I enjoy it so much, especially as I continue moving towards a speaking orientated future.

Last night's question was, "Should public speaking be taught in schools?" This was serendipity for me as very much chimed with the Finding Your Voice schools programme I've been working on. Currently looking for a school to pilot the programme.

If you've ever wanted to become a more confident speaker, I'd definitely recommend giving Toastmasters a try.

And some exciting news... a new Toastmasters club is launching in Southend this September! If you're local and would like to find out more, just drop me a message. I'd be happy to tell you all about it.

Yesterday I spent the day at Business Entrepreneurs and took another step towards the future I'm working to build.

I'm excited to be joining the community and learning from people who have already walked the path I'm now on.

My focus over the coming months is to continue developing and piloting Finding Your Voice, Scott Muller Conversations and Lionheart Sessions, turning ideas into something that creates a genuine impact.

Looking forward to the journey ahead.

For years, anything coming towards my face triggered intense fear due to childhood abuse and domestic violence. This debilitating phobia even affected my ability to play sports. Discovering boxing offered a way to hit back at the day's frustrations, but the real goal was confronting this demon head-on, to stand strong when a fist comes near.

Loretta Smile Feeling like ending it all, lost in loneliness, I met a doctor who offered a chance at a new nose, for free. This pivotal moment sparked a change. I quit smoking and drinking, found clarity, and discovered yoga. Cancer's darkness led to a brighter outlook on life, shedding all the crazy stuff.

For those with busy, anxious minds, cold water swimming offers a unique form of solace. The shock of the cold forces you to focus on the present moment, quieting the internal chatter and providing a temporary escape from worries. It's a powerful way to find peace.

Loretta Smile Imagine your childhood overshadowed by horrific violence. A mother's choice to marry the man who nearly killed her brother led to a cycle of abuse for her child, a chilling reality that still haunts the family.

Can someone truly understand addiction if they've never lived it?
In this clip from today's episode of Lionheart Conversations, Jason shares why he believes lived experience can be more powerful than qualifications when it comes to helping people overcome addiction.
It's an honest perspective that challenges the way many of us think about support, recovery, and what it really means to understand someone else's struggle.
Whether you agree or disagree, I'd love to hear your thoughts.

"Have you ever stopped to ask why someone behaves the way they do?"
In this powerful moment from Lionheart Conversations, Jason reflects on a childhood marked by domestic abuse, moving from place to place, and witnessing things no child should ever have to see.
His story is a reminder that behind so many behaviours is a story we know nothing about.
Sometimes understanding begins when we stop asking, "What's wrong with you?" and start asking, "What happened to you?"
