Hi Everyone,
I hope you are all keeping well.

Just the usual reminder of our next concert, which will be on Saturday 5th September 2026 at 7.30pm at St Margaret's Church, Lime Avenue, Leigh-on-Sea.

It promises to be quite an evening. The Summers Trio, plus others, will be playing a chamber music version of the slow movement of Ravel's Piano Concerto in G. Jenny Haxell will be singing a selection of songs and arias, from Handel to Gershwin. A suite for piano duet from Japan by Yoshinao Nakada, which contains many Japanese melodies. There is also some Summer Music by Richard Rodney Bennett and some more Gershwin played as solo piano.

I am hoping that you are impressed with this list of what can be heard at the concert and will come along and join us.

P.S. For club members, subscriptions for the 2026/7 season are now due. The easiest way to pay is at the door on the 5th. If you want to pay by a bank transfer then please let me know.

We have a new (old) grand piano which has been in the Leigh Community Centre. When we looked at it it was rather tatty state with no working pedal but the original sound was very attractive, so we decided to go ahead with the purchase. Thank you to the Southend Chamber Music Club members who were involved in organising the move, purchase and repair. Also huge thanks to Lara for restoration and Charles for repair and polishing.

Hi Everyone,
I hope you are all well.

Just the usual reminder of our next concert, which will be on Saturday 27th June 2026 at 7.30pm at St Margaret's Church, Lime Avenue, Leigh-on-Sea.

Our concert contains a variety of different music. It includes the romantic Four Short Pieces by Frank Bridge, two Spanish Dances for guitar by Granados, the Kagome Variations by Kiyoshige Koyama, pieces for two violins and piano by Joe Hisaishi and a lovely slightly jazz-influenced Romance by the South Korean Sang Jin Kim and more! It looks like many Far East composers this time.

We do hope that you will be able to join us.

Hi Everyone,
I hope this finds you all well.

Just my usual reminder of our next concert, which will be next Saturday 16th May 2026 at 7.30pm at St Margaret's Church, Lime Avenue, Leigh-on-Sea. Sorry for sending this message out a little late.

We are very fortunate to have the Summers Trio joining us again, with a performance of a piano trio arrangement of Cesar Franck's popular Sonata for violin and piano. There will also be trios by Haydn and the Italian baroque composer Alessandro Besozzi plus Richard Stokkereit will be playing two guitar studies by Fernando Sor. There will also be performances of Max Bruch's Kol Nidrei for cello and piano and the Concertino for violin and piano by Oskar Rieding.

We do hope that you will be able to join us.
