Thinking about favourite places. Stonehenge, How fabulously British, English, Scottish, and Welsh stones stood in a circle where twice a year, the people would gather, drink, eat, give advice, trade, make rulings, etc., and then disperse until the next solstice. They have even found Egyptian jewellery here in the past. It is placed on lay lines, etc., which must make it easier to find—ancient prime location. Less mapr reading fights. It is one of my favourite places on our planet. Greek ilands, don't have to explain and where I was born. They are in your blood. They are home.

”Power lies with those who control finance, not with those who know the matter upon which the money is to be spent. Thus, the holders of power are, in general, ignorant and malevolent, and the less they exercise their power the better.”

— Bertrand Russell, Sceptical Essays (1928), Ch. XIII: Freedom and Society, p. 153

Giovanni Bellini’s St Francis in the Frick Collection, New York. Bellini said that he liked to “wander at will” in his paintings. He has provided us with multiple journeys of delight within a single frame. I am a wonder, not so much a guide or teacher but more a collaborator or companion on an adventure. I've been told that Paul Klee would leave his students with a Quest and then leave....

Once upon a time, they stuck full moons in the pavement crossing the river; they told you how to stay safe. It seems like another lifetime ago today, walking through the park at twilight.

John Baldessari's work frequently integrates text, images, and found photographs. A pioneer in conceptual art during the 1960s, he uses imagery to explore the interplay of harmony and discord, security and disruption, focusing on the uneasy void between these extremes.

In his distinctive technique, he uses colored acrylic paint to obscure faces in nostalgic B-movie film stills, deliberately covering crucial visual details. This act of withholding information creates layers of meaning; Baldessari employs a color code—green for safety, blue for perfection, yellow for chaos, and red for danger. The dominant use of orange, a color "between" yellow and red, adds another dimension to his thought-provoking compositions.
