I saw this lovely Cyclamen hederifolia growing through the top of a stone wall. A splash of pink is a welcome addition to all the oranges and reds of Autumn.

🩷I must admit, I'd never thought of using it that way before, but it looked so effective. Of course, these little flowers are perfect for containers, too.

🩷The second and third photos show it growing in a bark chipwoodland path, where it looks equally delightful.

This Amelanchier is putting on quite a show at the moment, with its fiery Autumn colours.

❤️🍂 It makes a lovely tree for a smaller garden, with white flowers earlier in the year, followed by these wonderful rich colours before the leaves fall.

❤️🍂I love plants that give extended seasons of interest, don't you?

Today is rainy and overcast, but cactus Dahlia 'City of Alkmaar' adds a wonderful burst of colour,🍂especially against this grey stone wall.

🔥It's certainly feeling like Autumn today, although looking at the forecast, there still seems to be sunny days to come.

🔥In the meantime, I've been looking at bulbs for next Spring. I know if I leave it too long, my favourites will be sold out. Are you bulb shopping yet?

Dahlia 'Fenna Baaij' is full of flowers at the moment. I love her swept back petals and the hints of gold at the centre.

There's a chill in the air, but some welcome Autumn sunshine today, and the pollinators🐝are taking advantage of Mahonia nitens 'Cabaret'.

I love these deep, reddish orange flowers, which make a change from the usual yellow ones.

This plant can grow to between 1 - 1.5m tall although mine is planted in a pot, and I keep it pruned back.

There is another compact variety called 'Volcano' (sold by Sarah Raven) which has orange/yellow flowers and fern-like foliage similar to the variety 'Caress').

Dahlia 'Bishop of Dover' has been enjoying the sunshine, mixed with heavy showers today.

🌸🤍I love the pale mauve tints on these petals, and the pollinators adore the open flowers.

The pink flowers of Dianthus carthusianorum are borne on wiry stems, which seem to float above the darker leaves of this Hylotelephium (sedum, stonecrop).

❤️🩷This perennial dianthus grows to about 60cm tall and is a native of Europe, where it loves a dry, grassy habitat. Here, it's shown in a prairie style garden, but I think it would look equally at home in a cottage garden.

Although the day has been overcast, Dahlia 'Alauna Clair-Obscur' provides a brilliant splash of colour.

❤️These petals are tipped with white and these large double flowers can reach 17cm (7 inches) in diameter.

❤️This Cactus variety dahlia grows happily in a pot and can reach a height of 1.1m. I think it would be brilliant as a specimen plant or could add a welcome splash of colour in the border.

❤️The only question would be what colours to plant next to this beauty... perhaps green leaves with a maroon tint?

A glorious meadow on a beautifully warm Summer's day - what could be better?

🌸💜We had some showery rain last night but today is hot and sunny again.☀️

🌸💜In this scene, echinacea, scabious and heleniums are just some of the flowers creating this wonderful tapestry. Just one of the beautiful sights of summer that brings joy to all lucky enough to experience it.

Bees🐝have been loving these Echinacea flowers on this warm, Summer's day.☀️

🌸🩷These 'Cone flowers' are really popular with butterflies🦋too as they produce nectar throughout the day, unlike some flowers.

🌸🩷They attract many pollinators and are popular with Red Admiral and Monarch butterflies🦋. Other species, such as the Painted Lady caterpillars, enjoy feeding on the flowers, too. So, not only beautiful flowers but incredibly valuable for wildlife, as well.

I spotted this beauty today. These shaggy flowers would look stunning in a vase💐 and are equally as spectacular in the garden.

🧡🩷This Cactus group variety could be 'Alfred Grille' but there's also a similar one called 'Apricot Star'.

🧡🩷One of the joys of gardening is spotting new varieties. The trouble is you need a garden with space to cater for all the new 'must-haves'!
