It's with deep regret that we are today mourning the loss of the original Wrinkly Rockers drummer Dave Housely, who sadly passed away yesterday. Due to ill health, Dave had to leave the band about 2017, which was a sad time for us to lose such a great drummer. Dave continued to support the band, and when we were short of a drummer for the rehearsals, Dave would step in. Whenever he could help, he would enthusiasticly be there to make sure the band were a continued success. Many may well remember him as the Cheese man at the Lincoln market (the old market). Dave was a guy that was always smiling, and had the kindest nature that anyone could wish for from a friend. Though the Wrinkly Rockers are now disbanded, we are a family of musicians that remain in contact and it can be said that each of us are saddened to know that Dave is no longer with us.... RIP Dave 😥

Of course, we will post details of his funeral but we first need to allow his remaining family to grieve, and if the family allow it, we will post details of his funeral.

Today, The Wrinkly Rockers have to announce that today's gig at the Heckington Show will be the last one.

The core of the band have spent the last couple of years struggling to keep a consistent team, and now we are set to lose members again.

Frank Graves has taken the correct and rightful option to hang up his guitar and microphone after completing approximately 56 years in the music industry. Frank is the founding member of the band and we know that he will be sadly missed by many of our friends, but we're certain, because of his love for music, that you'll be seeing him at music events near you. Frank, thank you for all you've done for the band, and for bringing happiness to many people that you've entertained throughout your musical life.

It goes without saying that the Wrinkly Rockers wouldn't have lasted for so long without musicians that have stepped in to fill the gaps, for short periods, and for the long term when people have had to leave on health grounds, and when they have sadly passed away. All our past members are still interested members of the band and they are always missed by us that have had the pleasure to play the stage with them.

Thankyou to all the venues that have supported us.

As explained, there is a core element in the band that have been trying to keep a steady membership and we hope to revive the Wrinkly Rockers in 2025. So, we're on the lookout for musicians - if we get the right team together before 2025, then we will get on and start rehearsals. If you, or anyone you know, are interested then please contact us. We would be looking for seasoned musicians, those that don't want to gig each week but do around 14 a year. Though the band name suggests a somewhat aged band, we're not going to hold that for any interested musicians. If you've a liking for music of the 50s, 60s and 70s, then we're going to be interested in hearing from you. We are mainly based around Sleaford which is where we rehearse.

Finally, please come join us today at 4.30pm at the Heckington Show. We would really like the opportunity to say goodbye to you all.

The worst thing about doing a gig with the type of audience we had tonight is that it has to end 😥

We had a great time, and having Glynn (Drums) and Steve Scarfe (Keyboards) back on stage with us made it feel extra special again.

A huge thank you to all the audience tonight. You were awesome.

We would like to thank our support act, Paula - a superb solo vocalist and entertainer.

To all our friends, we look forward to seeing you all very soon. The Gig list will be updated soon 😁

Take care and we wish you all a very happy Christmas xx

We're very much looking forward to this year's Christmas show. Recently, each of us has been succumbed by the common cold that's flying around, but we're on the mend and ready to rock and roll on Saturday evening, 16 Dec 23 at St George's Academy in Sleaford.

Doors open at 6 pm, and the show starts at 7 pm.

Bring some table decorations and nibbles. All alcoholic drinks are £2.50.

We've got the fantastic Paula supporting us, and there's a raffle draw on, too.

Show ends at approximately 11pm, because we have to vacate the premises, including the removal of all the equipment, by midnight.

See you all on Saturday 😃
