Introducing Sean Godden
Sean Godden was born in London, spent most of his early life in Macau and started studying the piano at the age of six. Sean a student at the Royal Northern College of Music where is studying the renowned Professor Graham Scott. Sean has already won numerous awards and competitions, in France and at home in the UK. Most recently Sean was selected to play for the Keyboard Trust New Artist recital at Steinway Hall in London. He played Handel’s 5th Suite and Beethoven’s Hammerklavier Sonata. At the age of only 20 Sean’s recital was headlined “Youthful Fire in the service of the greats,” and he was described as “a very impressive young man, whose passion for sharing his stories through will take him far.

Introducing the talent of William P**n - Pianist and composer.
Born and raised in Hong Kong, William P**n started learning the piano at the age of five and the "dizi" at the age of eight. He studied piano with Jane Lo and Kovács Márton. He was awarded a full scholarship by the Hong Kong Home Affairs Bureau in 2020 to the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, where he studied with the renowned pianist Nancy Loo. He also received a scholarship to the Royal Northern College of Music to pursue a Master of Music degree under the guidance of Helen Krizos and Graham Scott. During his studies in the UK, he has won the RNCM Beethoven Sonata Competition and received the Carola Grindea Audience Prize in the 32nd BPSE Beethoven Senior Intercollegiate Piano Competition. Later, he was invited to give a solo piano recital in Rochdale. He also received second place in the 3rd Hong Kong International Music Festival and second place in the 4th International Liszt Ferenc Competition (Budapest).

We already have lots of folk signing up for our have "Come and Sing Day" which is open to all interested singers: John Rutter's beautiful Requiem under the baton of our Director, Dr Martin Cook with our accompanist, John Bowen.
Our Come and Sing Days are always huge fun and well-attended, a great opportunity to meet other musicians to sing great music in a wonderful venue. Registration begins on the day at 9.30am and singing commences at 10.00am. Please register online if possible so that we can make sure we have enough music copies - but you can turn up on the day. We would love to meet you!

Shrewsbury Choral have now started preparing for this exciting cocncert. Mendelssohn's Hebrides Overture is a concert classic. Haydn's Heiligmesse is wonderful and Brahms' Second Piano Concerto is stupendous. Sean Godden our guest pianist is a phenomenal talent and has very bright future in the piano world. Don't miss him - his playing is spell binding!
