A quick visit to the bus the other day revealed that we had suffered a leak from the studio skylight. The leak in question had managed to find its way directly onto the iMac in the studio and onto the desk. Thankfully it doesn't look like water has got into the iMac but only time will tell on Thursday.

Despite the best efforts to make the skylight watertight, it simply wasn't enough. Therefore both frames will now be removed and permanently sealed and covered over ensuring the roof is completely watertight and the same thing doesn't happen again. This does come at a cost to our donations pot having to order 1m x 1m metal sheets but money well spent to prevent any unwanted interior damage.

This Thursday sees the return of works on the bus and with nicer weather now upon us, works will begin underneath the bus to remove surface rust in places, recondition an air tank and fixings, recondition the exhaust and get it ready for an MOT in the future (that's another thing.. more on that another time!)

๐ŸŽธ WE HAVE A STUDIO! ๐ŸŽธ

For those who haven't yet seen our YouTube update last night, we now have a usable studio on the bus! With some hard work over the months of April and May, this marks a big step forward in getting the bus used again for creativity and educational purposes.

The completed studio now gives the Allstars a space in which to multi-track record songs and eventually host live streams of original music performances over YouTube & Facebook as well as being used as a space for tuition and practice.

Whilst our focus has been on the interior of the bus over the last year, our attention now shifts to the exterior works in order to bring the studio down to Shoreham for continued use. This involves carrying out some minor welding on the front wheel arch areas, welding new door seals, removing surface rust under the cab and treating the area, replacement of the front bumper and faded headlights, new wipers, bodywork refresh and much more.

You can help us now get the bus back to Shoreham by donating to our GoFundMe page. All funds will enable us to buy materials and parts to get our bus to a condition where we can reliably present it for an MOT.

Today was a 'small jobs' day to get the little things that make a huge difference done.

โ›ฝ๏ธ The bus was topped up with 15L of diesel today. As its currently SORNd and without an Annual Test (MOT), it cannot be taken on the road currently meaning we can only fill it by jerry can. If anyone can.. jerry can!

๐Ÿ’งSecondly, the water leak from the water pump was fixed today. It turned out to be a minor crack on one of the pipe fittings. As they are hard to obtain, the accumulator tank was removed not only to make room, but to half inch another fitting. Even though the accumulator helps to ensure smooth running of the water system, it really wasn't needed just for one tap.

๐Ÿ”Œ๐Ÿ”‹Lastly, a 16A input was fitted into the studio area today which allows us to power the bus from inside with an EcoFlow. This is the same as a generator but silent using batteries and an inverter. In the event the inverter runs out, we can simply switch the electrics over to shore power. When visiting the bus, the battery for the 12v electrics had to be connected and disconnected all the time. This has now been resolved by fitting an isolator switch underneath the bench seat without having to access the panel outside.

๐Ÿ‘€ For those who haven't been following on YouTube, we have a special announcement coming up in May and its a good one!! Watch this space ๐Ÿ‘€

It's all starting to come together! Today the Behringer XR18 was installed into the bus recording area which will allow multitrack recording of instruments & vocals for editing in the studio area. As you may notice, the cables are still all over the place and pending sorting.

Secondly, the live streaming PC was installed into the bus today which will allow us to live stream performances from the bus itself over a 4G/5G network. The computer will also HDMI out into a screen in the recording area to give visuals for recording sessions.

The stage door today was worked on both inside and out with insulation being fitted ready for over boarding both for sound insulation and heat retention in the warmer months. Outside the stage door, metal filler was used to fill in the gaps around the fold down platform to prevent any water from getting into the bus once the wall has been boarded

Lastly, a pesky water leak on the water pump was narrowed down to a worn 1/2" pipe connector which had a perished o-ring inside. This allowed water to leak on top of the water tank down into the cupboard once the system was pressurised. A new connector will soon be on the way to have running water again!

Lots happening on the bus, but one exciting thing to announce possibly very soon so watch this space! ๐Ÿ‘€
