Thank you!!

We would like to take this opportunity to thank Enjoy Wolverhampton and all the team that so brilliantly helped us recently at the Change Makers Hub. For two weeks we worked side by side to make sure the Smallest Zoo in the World was always ready, clean and prepared for visitors.

Shaun, Cherry, Susie thank you to all your team for your hard work and support. We thoroughly enjoyed working with you and look forward to future plans together.

Have you found the animals?

Just a few days left to help us find the animals and take them to their new home. One of the things we've loved during our last exhibition was the engagement from the children. The explorations of the pieces, the problem solving with the challenge towers, the care with the pieces and the many questions we've been asked.

Making sure art can be accessible is very important to us. This is the reason we chose to let the animals have a few days for them to explore too. It gives children and families the chance to find them in their local libraries and experience the wonder for free. Not everyone can afford to come and see us and specifically for those from marginalised groups, we wanted to make sure we are always trying to work with our communities.

Libraries are wonderful, free places where there are so many books/ audiobooks available in many languages.

Do let us know which animal you found, we'd love to see your photos.

The race is on.

Those cheeky animals have escaped from the exhibition in Wolverhampton. They have each run off to explore a local library in the Wolverhampton area. This means at any time over the next few days you can head to the libraries below and see a microscopic animal for free.
By the end of the weekend we should have them all safe and sound in their new home, so keep your eyes peeled for where that will be.

Miniature marvels make their home in city's libraries

The Microscopic animals have escaped from the Smallest Zoo In The World – and can now be found in libraries around Wolverhampton!

The “zoo” features 24 animal sculptures so small they fit inside the eye of a needle, and can only be seen with the help of a microscope.

After being on show at the Change Makers Hub at Wolverhampton railway station over the Easter holidays, the creatures have made a beeline to the city's libraries, where they can be found for the next few weeks.

We'll be uploading a tracker sheet soon for all the keen explorers that want to help us find the animals.

Visitors are encouraged to come along to their local library to see its particular miniature marvel, and are also being asked to suggest a name for each creature, with 24 winners receiving a free ticket to visit the full Smallest Zoo In The World exhibition once the animals have been rounded up and returned to their natural habitat.

In addition, visitors can snap up postcards for £1 each featuring a high resolution photograph of the creatures.

Edward Hammond, founder of Smallest In The World and owner of Hammond Galleries in Shifnal, said: “The World’s Smallest Zoo showcases the amazing feats that a human can achieve.

Rob Johnson, City Librarian, added: "We are delighted that our libraries are providing a temporary home to a wide range of creatures from the Smallest Zoo In The World. Please visit your local library to see which has made it their home."
