Under The Wire Under the Wire is Sheffield’s weekly music night at The Porter Cottage — a home for underground voices, rising artists and seasoned players.

No polish, no pretense — just songs, stories and the energy of musicians connecting in the moment.

Hello everyone 🤍

The season is upon us and I wanted to let you all know what we do and who we are 😁

We are a weekly event for musicians and music lovers that love to see new faces, familiar faces, first-timers, regulars, and anyone who wants to be part of the local music scene.

It’s a place to play, listen, meet people, try something new, and be part of a growing community.

Some of the musicians who come through our Wednesday nights also end up being part of other Under The Wire events around Sheffield but it all starts here, in the room, on a Wednesday.

What an absolute amazing night yesterday at Leopold Square

Under The Wire is about bringing all different styles and backgrounds together. It’s about music and passion.

Yesterday we accomplished that. Thanks to everybody who came down and the best line up ever.

We are missing Junaina Rahman in the photos but she was there and she was amazing 🤍

On Friday 7th August, Under The Wire is bringing a lineup of solo artists to Leopold Square.

Some are musicians we’ve met through our Wednesday nights, some we’ve seen out busking, and others are people running their own open mics and helping keep the Sheffield music scene moving.

Each act will play 3 songs, giving you a little taste of different voices and styles

Come down, discover someone new, and support local talent.

Play. Discover. Connect.
