Filming took place at home with and her family, and at with a few of our latest Gags for Good cohort.

This is what we’re about.

Creating spaces where people feel safe enough to try something new, brave enough to share their voice and supported enough to stand on stage and be heard.

In just eight weeks, this group went from “I’m not sure I can do this” to performing in front of a packed room at and absolutely smashing it.

And yes… one of our students, Martin, delivered a questionable joke on camera… but redeemed himself with a brilliant set at the showcase 👏

We couldn’t be prouder of this group 💚

Last night was something special 🖤💚🖤

Over 100 people packed into to watch 10 brand new comedians take to the stage after just 8 weeks… and honestly? They absolutely smashed it.

Every single one of them got up there, owned the room, and delivered. Not just funny but brave, honest and completely themselves. The kind of comedy you can’t teach overnight.

What people don’t always see is the graft behind it:
the nerves, the rewrites, the “is this even funny?” moments, the courage it takes just to stand up and speak.

And then last night… they turned all of that into something brilliant.

We couldn’t be prouder.

This is exactly why we do what we do at Gags for Good, because when people are given the space, support and a mic… incredible things happen.

We’re very excited to see what this group does next 👀

There was a time I didn’t know if I’d even get to watch my children grow up.

Now I run a social enterprise helping other people find their voice through comedy.

My story has been featured in The Star sharing how cancer changed everything, and why I started Gags for Good CIC.

This isn’t just about stand-up.
It’s about confidence, connection and creating spaces where people feel seen, heard and a bit braver than they did before.

When women take the mic, something shifts.
The same topics suddenly get questioned, because of who’s telling the joke.

This one’s about ownership, perspective and why women reclaiming the narrative in comedy matters.

👉

After a recent comedy night celebrating International Women’s Day, I received an email from an audience member. It was polite. Thoughtful. Not aggressive. But it questioned something interesting...Specifically, it questioned why some of the comedians (all female) were making jokes about women’s ...

🎤 Ever thought about trying stand-up comedy… but bottled it?

Same.

That’s literally why this exists.

Our Learn to Write & Perform Stand-Up Comedy course is back next month and it’s for normal people. Not “comedy people.” Not loud people. Not people who already think they’re hilarious.

Just… people.

People who want to:
– build confidence
– try something new
– get out of their own head for a bit
– and maybe (accidentally) become really funny

Over 8 weeks, we’ll help you:
✍️ Write your own material
🎤 Learn how to actually deliver it
😂 Find your voice (without trying to be someone else)
👀 And perform it live at the end (only if you want to… but you probably will)

No ego. No gatekeeping. No weird comedy cliques.

Just a good room, good people, and a lot of laughs.

It’s run by a social enterprise too — so you’re not just doing something for yourself, you’re part of something bigger. ❤️

Starts next month in Sheffield.

👉 Find out more / book your place:

Our 8-week stand-up comedy course takes you from a blank page to a live performance, covering everything from writing your own material to stagecraft, confidence and yes… which end of the microphone to speak into. Courses run in person, in a small, private group, over 8 weekly sessions (2 hours pe...
