Hey everyone! 👋

A quick update regarding our page.

Unfortunately, Meta has started rolling out changes to the way links are handled across Facebook, including restrictions affecting pages and businesses that share links in posts and comments.

For independent promoters and small businesses like us, having to pay simply to reliably direct our audience to an external link is another unnecessary overhead, particularly at a time when every penny counts.

Rather than putting that additional cost onto Novacaine, we're going to adapt.

From now on, instead of posting direct links throughout our Facebook posts and comments, we'll be following the same approach we use on Instagram:

That link will take you to our website, where you'll find everything you need, including tickets, festival information, applications, news and more.

We know it's an extra step, and we'd much rather be able to simply give you the link directly, but unfortunately this is the direction Meta has chosen to take things.

As an independent festival, we're going to keep finding ways to work around these changes without passing the cost on to you.

Thanks, as always, for supporting independent music and independent promoters.

This week, the world has lost two of the most iconic and influential people of our time, Dolly Parton & Tim Curry.

They weren't just celebrities. They were people who showed the world that it's okay to be different, to challenge expectations and, most importantly, to follow your dreams.

Whilst neither may have had a direct connection to the alternative music scene, their influence has undoubtedly found its way into it, from inspiring artists around the world, to becoming part of the culture surrounding alternative events and the way we express ourselves.

This year, we'll be paying tribute to those we've lost over the last few years, and celebrating the impact they've left behind.

Rest in Peace, gone but forever remembered.

In Reverence To All That We Are : WISH

Our little ode to yearning is making its way through the airwaves and we are so grateful for the beautiful response we’ve received so far 🥹♥️

A lil something I wrote in explanation of process:

Our first breaths are taken in tandem with separation- we are plunged into this world from the wombs of our mothers and an immediate yearning for love takes hold. I imagine birth to be both painful and exhilarating- an extradition from the Garden of Eden into an endless world of curiosities and exploration. I feel bold to be defined as an individual, and yet I am struck by a void that exists within me. I yearn, I wish, I dream of love- all that I want is to be held, and to remember what it was to exist within the safety of my mother, to grow and be completely intertwined within the essence of her being. As content as I may be with my existence on this earth, there is no greater desire that exists within me than to love and be loved by another, to hold and be held by another. In acknowledgement of the sanctity of our existence, I recognise a desire to meet the divine with in the heart of another. Within the hearts of others. I believe there is no human experience more true than that of the desire for connection- we are here to love, truly and completely. ‘Wish’ is borne from the hope to be met completely by another. It is all of the incessant yearning that exists within me poured into a song- in sweet sweet acceptance of how beautiful it is to love and be loved. It is my favourite aspect of this existence, through all of its colours and waves.

Each song on this EP feels like a beautiful exposition of self and all that we are as humans. Thank you for being on this journey with us- the whole point of sharing our hearts in this way is so that we might connect with those who resonate with our specific way of being. It is an honour to share this life with you. I hope you enjoy listening- ‘Wish’ is a gift offered with the intention of reminding us that it is okay to yearn for love. It is written into the very fibre of our beings.
