Goodbye 2025 Roll on 2026 - we are still on a high of excitement 🤽‍♀️after the Shaftesbury Carnival 🎆🎇where we paraded with Shaftesbury's very own Mermaid Nerissa 🧜‍♀️ and FOSS - Friends of Shaftesbury Swimming. We have calmed down enough to share some photos...ENJOY

At the Shaftesbury Lido community fun day yesterday Sync or Swim tested the crowds knowledge of our award winning land synchronised swim moves 🪩👙🛟🌊

A remarkable number of swimmers and FOSS - Friends of Shaftesbury Swimming knew exactly how to do a wave 🌊 jellyfish 🪼 or 🦢swan . We were impressed and ready to polish our routines with some new moves..

Also where else do you meet a mermaid, mermaid security, the mayor & the town crier. Shaftesbury Lido of course …

The swim season might be over but land synchronised swimming must go on all year…

Fame indeed… we made the BBC… and had to submit to a lie detection test …. Can you work out fact from fiction ? 🤥🙄🤔💫

Our favourite land synchronised swimming troupe Sync or Swim is also our favourite radio star! Listen to Annie chat to Steve Harris live on BBC Radio Solent as she takes an (imaginary) lie detector on air. Of course, Annie managed to get in lots of mentions of the Lido and the amazing crowdfunder that supported this year's renovation work.

Here are the statements that Annie gave Steve - one truth and two lies. Can you guess the truth?

🏆Sync or Swim is lobbying to become an official sport at the next Commonwealth Games with 15 other troupes. (It may or may not be a popular sport in Scotland, we couldn't possibly comment).

🎭Sync or Swim's new choreographer made them try out their Shaftesbury Fringe routine in the Lido first to make sure the moves were authentic and that they could actually swim!

🎊For last year's Shaftesbury Carnival, a Naked swimmer joined the troupe and they won first prize!
