Sunday 27 November 6-8pm
Bricklayers Arms, Chevening Road, Chipstead TN13 2RZ
GARY PHILLIPS' passion is working with found and recycled objects, rescuing and transforming them into new and beautiful objects. Part art/part archeology, his pieces often reflect over 1,000 years
of London history; from Roman occupation through the great plagues and fires that have blighted London, through empire building and brisk commerce, right up to the present day. Whether mixed media collages, jewellery, mosaics or sculpture, each piece is unique and always has a story to tell. Gary has had his work exhibited both in London and in New York City, where he spent a number of years working on urban art projects as well as exploring the less-well-trodden city parks in search of American and British Revolutionary artefacts. LINDA JONES has over 20 years experience in jewellery design and has been specialising in wirework, teaching classes and demonstrating her craft for the last 15 years. She is author of 8 project books, 3 DVD’s and is a regular demonstrator on Create & Craft TV sponsored by Beads Direct, as well as contributing designs to numerous magazine publication in the UK and the US. Founder of the WireWorkers Guild she is the creator of the Whammer, a multi tool jewellery hammer. PETA STOCKTON is an established botanical artist with a gold medal from the RHS. Since becoming a mother she spends most of her time teaching art to adults and children from her studio in Chipstead Lane. Her work ranges from small, detailed paintings in watercolour to large bold works in oil and mixed media. She paints a variety of subjects ranging from views of the local area, to nudes and abstracts. TRISH DALTON has been making functional pottery for 6 years and has just begun experimenting with raku. Her pottery is primarily used for preparing and serving food as she feels it is important to be surrounded by and use hand-made objects every day. KEVIN TUDOR creates beautiful and functional objects from wood. TREVOR BARDELL specialises in paintings of classic aircraft. Come by for a pint and a chat with local artists as you browse or buy unique hand-made Christmas gifts.
