HWe are so happy with this year's Disabled Cants lineup for the Edinburgh Fringe. ??

This year, we've worked really hard to make sure more performers with physical disabilities are represented across the lineup, as many still struggle to access regular gigs and opportunities in the comedy industry. We've also hopefully found the right balance of neurodiverse acts, mental health representation, and physically disabled comedians throughout the run.

For us, Disabled Cants has always been about creating opportunities, building confidence, and giving disabled comedians a proper platform to shine at one of the biggest arts festivals in the world.

Applications for this year are now officially closed.

But don't forget, everyone is still welcome to come and sit with us at Bar 50. Over the past four years of Benny hosting Disabled Cants, Bar 50 has become the hub to be for the disabled comedy community at the Fringe.

We hope to see you all there, have a laugh, support one another, and enjoy a fantastic festival together. Benny can't wait to see you all there alongside Mark McKean and Jen Swan, with Susanna Clarke from Ingenious Fools supporting the team throughout the Fringe.

Again, we haven’t had Terry on Disabled Cants yet, but every time we’ve seen him at other gigs, he always surprises us with different tricks, madness, and comedy. You genuinely never know what’s coming next 😂

If you like weird, silly, unpredictable comedy mixed with mind reading and chaos, then this is definitely one to check out.

Sam’s been steadily coming up the ranks, and last year we gave him the chance to perform a longer set alongside three other talented disabled comedians at a festival — and he smashed it as a middle act.

Now, after getting a real taste of the Fringe, he’s stepping up with his first full stand-up show 🙌

Disabled Cants isn’t doing anything now until August, but you can still catch some brilliant Disabled Cants comedy at Ram Comedy Festival Derby from the end of May into the beginning of June.

First up, we’re promoting Saunders: One Dog, One Nutter – PTSD to Pleasure.

We met Jay at the Edinburgh Fringe last year through Project Mayhem — a great bunch of ex-army and military lads doing comedy and sharing their stories.

Well, last night was another fantastic Disabled Cants comedy night! 🎤♿

Even though audience numbers were a little lower, it was still a brilliant evening. Every single act did amazingly well — honestly, they were all fantastic. And to top it off, we even got fresh eggs from Lady Ha Ha’s hens! 🥚😄

A huge thank you as well to Maya Yukimura for coming down, supporting us, and taking some brilliant photos. You can even spot her in the middle of the group photo! This is exactly what Disabled Cants is all about — connecting with audiences, building community, and having fun together.

Big thanks as well to Neil for coming along with his new girlfriend, plus Lizzie Lenko and Craig Shaw for their support. It’s always lovely seeing old friends in the audience and having that support behind what we do.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this final show before summer such a special one.

We’re now taking a short summer break while we prepare for Edinburgh Fringe, but don’t worry — we’ll be back on 28th September with a huge fundraiser show.

This September event will help support our fellow disabled comedian Jamie Green in raising money for a new electric wheelchair. It’s going to be a very special night, and we’re incredibly lucky to have the brilliant Andrew O’Neill closing the show.

Andrew has been on TV, toured all around England, and performed at venues including The Glee, Just the Tonic, and many more. This is not one to miss.
