Working away on a few different acrylic pieces, some brand new and some reworking old paintings. Hardly had time for painting lately with so much happening and going on, so made the most of a couple of hours in studio today.

Today I went to an art workshop ran by members of my art group. Totally out my comfort zone, working with a still life reference photo.. I've never painted any fruit before and rarely if ever work from a reference; with intuitive landscapes being my thing. So it was an experience and challenging but given the short time at it, I'm relatively chuffed with the result. Huge thanks to the Banff Art Club members for giving up their time to share their knowledge with us.

Some days are just not your day in the studio! I've scrubbed out the canvas painting so many times and started again and nothing is working. I've also tried watercolour / gouache and palette knife acrylic in my sketchbook and all went wrong fast. Time to call it a day, walk away and try again another day. 🤦‍♀️

Me as the canvas update: Can't wait to see it all healed! My half sleeve got finished today... last gap filled with florals and butterflies, last of the shading & background done all round. Some real nippy bits done today so feeling a tad sore but all worth it in the end. Every element has so much meaning to me which makes it so special. Anna has such a talent and eye... beautiful work & person... highly recommend Just Ink It ❤️
