Next month is and we have the original work of illustrator Darren Baxter in the gallery. Darren created the work for the festival, painting an acrylic canvas and giving the month long laugh fest its visual identity.
Darren Baxter is a London born, Hastings based artist whom has exhibited across the UK for more than 20 years. Trained as an illustrator, his practice centres on creating visually arresting paintings with an implied narrative, developed through his distinctive maximalist style.
Darren’s richly coloured compositions guide the viewer across the canvas gradually revealing layered narratives. His bold use of colour invites the audience into each scene, where carefully considered details allow individual interpretations & stories to emerge. In the gallery until the end of June!
