Recently I got chatting to my lovely neighbour who was looking for a no-low maintenance flower arrangement to welcome her Airbnb guests. With all the work involved turning her beautiful cosy cottage over each time new guests arrive, arranging fresh flowers was an additional task which we decided we could quickly fix. So she handed over her vase & I headed to my studio. I really enjoyed this one, mixing different shades & bringing in colours from her cottage, with the added connection that some of the stems had been foraged from my neighbour’s garden last summer when I was frantically raiding & drying anything I could find! There was a giant teasel which she kindly chopped & saved for me - see comedy pic of me ‘transporting’ it down the lane above if you swipe across. This wonderful connection across the seasons with different flowers, foliage & seed heads appearing in the earth all around us which then dry beautifully and can be enjoyed throughout the year brings extra meaning to a project. So happy to be asked to create this piece and thankful for all the donations from my neighbour’s garden over the past years.
