It is with some sadness that we have to tell you that the future of the Saffron Walden Music Festival is looking very uncertain. Due to commercial and educational pressures, Saffron Walden County High School and Saffron Hall have decided that they can no longer accommodate us in their schedules. We are tremendously grateful to them for generously sharing their facilities over the years; it has been wonderful.
This, however, does give us an opportunity to reflect on whether the Saffron Walden Music Festival should carry on its current form in a different venue, evolve to a different model or accept that it has come to the end of its natural life. We would very much like to involve you in that process and would like to ask if you would spend 5 minutes completing a questionnaire (please use the link below) to help us make the right decision.

We are delighted to announce that Fred Blackshaw, our overall instrumental winner and Oscar Riley, our winning vocalist, both won their sections at the regional finals in Chelmsford and went through to the final of the National Rotary Young Musician competition at the end of March. Congratulations - we are so proud of you!
