// Sharing my songs //

It was a deep joy to share some of my songs at our Summer Solstice retreat yesterday with & everyone that joined us.

This song was inspired by some dear friends who courageously took part in a fire walk at a Beltane festival in May with .events. In the days after, this song landed through the ether. That's often how songs arrive for me... when they are ready they pierce the veil and take form within a day or two.

I love singing it as it reminds me of that wonderful shared experience (thank you .events), how we inspire each other deeply (often without even knowing), and it reminds me that we are all walking through the fires of change in life.

How can we embrace it? 🔥

We are looking forward to sharing some songs and Soreya sounds this Saturday at Birdies in Farnham, Surrey.

Birdies is a stunning venue and there will be delicious food & drinks to whet your appetite on the night.

Soreya is a collective of 4 multi-instrumentalists who weave a rich and multilayered landscape of their own songs, along with improvised sound & rhythms. Soreya’s live music takes you on a journey, through the sounds and textures of a wide range of instruments including didgeridoo, shruti, harmonium, handpan, guitar, djembe, cajón and many others, along with ethereal vocals and heart opening harmonies. Each live performance is unique and in devotion to the creative flow of the moment.

Our musical offerings are a journey through a varied landscape, from soft and gentle melodies to earthy trance like didgeridoo drones into high energy and uplifting rhythms and soundscapes.

We are so looking forward to dancing, drumming & singing together on the land.

So many memories of previous magical times we have shared with some of you (see photos!).

Let's celebrate life together, even and especially when life feels challenging ~ we commune, we dance, we sing 🎶✨💛🌞.

We will have spacious time to rest, land & explore on the beautiful grounds and land of the New Moon Mill.

We will dance barefoot on the earth, grounding into the land that holds us and letting spirit move and soar through our movement, drumming and song.

Bring drums & rattles if you have them. There will be some to borrow if you don't...

I'm so looking forward to sharing some songs at our Solstice Retreat this coming Sunday.

& I have got such a special afternoon planned for you to celebrate this time of year 🎶✨🌞✨🎶.

Marie & I love collaborating to bring dance & song together with you all, and this time we felt we wanted to extend our time together to really deepen into the experience with dance, drumming, live music and singing together, and time to really be on the earth, with the waters and all the elemental and natural beauty at the stunning New Moon Mill in Eversley, Berkshire.

I'm looking forward to sharing some of my own songs, along with some beautiful songs gifted to the world from others. This song I am sharing has been requested already and is by Helen Knight.🎶💜. I have shared this song around many fires and circles ~ songs carry their medicine wherever they go and I've been enjoying practicing this week in preparation for gathering together soon...

You will be making 2 rattles, one that you will make from scratch and take home to complete, and 1 that you will finish from a pre- prepared rattle on Sunday.

Rattles need time to dry before completing so one rattle will be started together, and then completed by you at home, with the skills you learn in the workshop.

A rattle is a sacred sound instrument, which you can use in ceremony, ritual and healing practices, or in music and sound practices. 

Making your own rattle is a beautiful and empowering process as you craft it yourself, in relationship with your rattle, working with the particular medicine, energy and materials your particular rattle calls for.

Rattles have traditionally been used to clear space, to connect with the ancestors, other realms and the dreamworld. They are also some of the earliest instruments, representing the rhythm & heartbeat of humanity through time.

Each circle is so unique and guided by what the group brings and yearns for each time we gather.

This month we drummed with different intentions and in different directions to explore how our drumming changed, and what it revealed to us.

We then journeyed to meet with any support we needed from the unseen realms at this time, and met with an array of guides and guidance.

Ancestors were present and foraged plant allies offered their sweet medicine in the tea we made together, thank you to the elderflower, blackberry leaf & nettle 💚🙏.

We will gather again in July, dates coming soon...

I can't think of a more beautifully inspiring place to be than nestled in nature when exploring music in this way 💚.
