These three 🐦🤍🖤💙
Inspired by big eyes and the way mother birds watch, protect and guard their nests, this act became a playful exploration of trust, teamwork and togetherness. Two very different birds, inspired by a fuzzy white owl and a dark, determined raven, they come together through play, curiosity and learning to understand one another. Alongside them is the watcher, the keeper, protecting, guiding and holding the space as they grow.
What started as ideas slowly became young people creating, listening, adapting and building something that felt truly theirs. Watching these three work together, solve problems, support each other and help one another shine has been brilliant.
The confidence they’ve developed through creating FLIGHT has grown massively. For one of these performers, this was their first time performing in a large Spotlight production, and seeing them step into that space with courage and pride has been something really special.

Created with Spotlight Youth Circus Troupe alongside professional artists as part of FLIGHT, a youth circus show about courage, freedom and the search for belonging, told through the movement of birds.
