Busy boy at the moment! As well as the Ludlow Art Society's Spring Exhibition there are 3 more pictures going into The Raven Hotel and Restaurant. These are more local scenes, Comer Woods, Dudmaston (the pool) and 2 views from around Much Wenlock. Drop in for a drink/meal, the food is superb and the staff are fabulous!

This morning was spent stewarding at the Ludlow Art Society's Spring Exhibition in St. Lawrence church, Ludlow. The exhibition runs every day from 10am - 5pm until 2nd May and is a superb collection of diverse mediums and subjects to a very high standard. These are the 3 paintings I am exhibiting.
So pop along, it's well worth it!

Following the success of the ongoing exhibition of my local landscapes in it was suggested that people might like to ‘meet the artist’, so I’m delighted to tell you that you’re all very welcome to attend my open evening on the 24th November. The exhibition will include all the work currently on show at The Raven and also a few extras from further afield in the UK.
If you would like to come along to view my paintings ‘up close’ in a relaxed atmosphere, with drinks and nibbles, then we would love to see you!

This didn't start off as a commission but when Sarah saw it she said 'Ooo that would look lovely in my practice'! consequently it is now on the wall in Sarah's Pure Wellness Homeopathic practice! So I'm afraid the original is no longer available but I will be doing a run of limited edition prints.
A month ago we had a little excursion to Scotland for a week, so expect a run of Scottish landscapes 😊 working on a panoramic of Eilean Donan Castle at the mo, very excited 😀.

Well, it's been a few months since my last post and so much has happened in that time! Covid restrictions are gradually lifting and we're all steadily getting our 'normal' lives back, pubs and restaurants are open - yeah!! Which brings me neatly to this post, a month ago I was approached by The Raven Hotel & Restaurant to exhibit my work in their newly redecorated establishment, thank you Sue, Gary and Emma! From personal experience I know that The Raven has one of the finest restaurants, the food is to die for and the staff are lovely! So if you fancy a night out or a weekend away I would highly recommend The Raven Hotel and you get to look at my paintings and prints as an added bonus- or maybe even buy one! 🤣

This is my latest offering and can be seen in The Raven restaurant, 'Rocky outcrop, Cardingmill Valley' oil on canvas 40" x 32"

Spring is in the air, the Snowdrops have almost gone and it's Daffodil time again, my favourite time of the year! However, that's got very little to do with my next painting other than I've just finished it.
At 60cms x 80cms it's one of my bigger ones and, again, it's of one of our dog walking routes in the Much Wenlock area, that's the Wrekin in the background.
Hope you're all doing OK and looking forward to the restrictions being steadily lifted, I know I am!!

Till next time...

Now we're well into 2021 and I hope everyone is coping with the second lockdown OK?!

I haven't done a post since last October so I thought I'd catch you all up on my recent endeavours.
The first two are from Pistyll Rhaeadr, an area just inside the Welsh border close to Oswystry and famous for it's waterfall, the tallest single drop waterfall in the British Isles! We visited in between lockdowns last year and if you get chance go, well worth the trip (if we're ever allowed to travel again!).
The third painting is a local one, just up the road in Much Wenlock, a place we pass at least twice a day walking the dog. This is a small one for me at 10" square but it was a beautiful frosty morning and thought it deserved to be painted 🙂

Look after yourselves and stay safe!

Well, it's taken me just as long to get round to posting this as it did last time!!
Here's a couple of my most recent paintings. A continuation of the road trip to Scotland in 2017 and yet another Camusdarach beach pic this time at sunset, which happens much later up there, I think this was around 10pm. My second painting is of Much Wenlock Priory, a bit closer to home!

On the easel at the moment is one of the Pistyll Rhaeadr waterfalls which is Britain's highest single drop waterfall, hopefully you'll see the results before Christmas 🤞

I have just realised that I haven't posted anything for Artwerks for 5 months!!! I'd like to say that it's because I've been busy painting but, unfortunately, its not 😀
However, I did manage to do a couple of paintings earlier on in the year, so I thought I'd post them now.
These are both Welsh based paintings. Elan Valley is one of my favourite places and this is the Craig Goch Reservoir which is the closest dam to the Aberystwyth mountain road. The second painting is from the Afon Eiddew Valley, Lake Vyrnwy which is quite a magical place.
Hopefully it won't be as long before the next post! 🤣
