This has been a very hot week to work, with much brow wiping and a couple of cancelled sessions 🥵

But I finished my Royal theme with the lovely folk at Spetisbury Manor Luxury Retirement Home where the fan provision was wonderful, such that I almost gave the residents a Marilyn Monroe moment! 🙈

This mini 1966 World Atlas can go in the case for my 'Trips and Travel' session. It's always interesting to look at how the countries of the world have changed in 60 years!

How are you coping with the heat?

As much as I love dressing up for my 'Right Royal Occasion' (with a cotton hanky in my bag to mop my brow!), I'm looking forward to next week's casual holiday outfit 👒

Residents at Amberwood House enjoyed a fascinating visit from Claire’s Curiosity 👑

This month’s theme was royal coronations, with photographs, memorabilia and stories from across the years sparking plenty of conversation. Residents shared their own thoughts and recollections as they explored the history behind these historic occasions.

Next month's session, 'Trips and Travel', starts with thinking about days out with the family. I had one to Godlingston Heath with the grandchildren yesterday.

I love finding local folklore stories and apparently the enormous, out of context, Agglestone was thrown to this spot above Studland by a giant on the Isle of Wight!!

I do love the fact that residents bring special things to show me when I visit.

This morning a resident at The Potteries Care Home lent me a document called 'Mum's Memories - growing up in the 50s and 60s', written by her and beautifully evocative.

And this afternoon a Southbourne Beach Care Home resident, who is proud to be attending The Trooping of the Colour on Saturday, brought me an album of photos of him with royalty.

Such amazing conversations, a real privilege ❤️
