✉️ World Letter Writing Day 📮

We have many conversations during my sessions about how wonderful both sending and receiving a letter is, and the fact that letter writing is sadly becoming a lost art. My letter rack always stirs up many memories and the beauty in my set of love letters from the 1950s can simultaneously raise a smile and bring a tear to the eye ❤️

British Bank Holidays have their origins in the 19th century. The Bank Holidays Act of 1871 created the first official bank holidays in England, Wales and Ireland, giving bank workers a much-needed day off. At the time, shops and businesses often closed too, and the tradition of a public holiday gradually became part of British life.

Today, Bank Holidays are associated with family days out, seaside trips, gardening, picnics and, of course, hoping for some sunshine (although this year we're not going to complain about rain!) ☀️

For many of us, dogs are woven into our happiest memories and are much missed when we lose them. The power of a canine friend can be seen regularly in the care environment and I never mind having them in my sessions 🐶🐕‍🦺🐕🦮
