Pay What You Feel; A Different Way to Pay

For me, Pay What You Feel is about creating a welcoming space where people can come together, learn something new and enjoy some time making. I want you to feel that you can take part, whatever your budget.

So if you’ve been thinking about coming along but wondering whether you can afford it, this blog explains how it works

You don’t have to be “good at sewing” to enjoy slow stitching.

In fact, slow stitching isn’t really about sewing skills at all. Instead, its a gentle, mindful way of working with fabric and thread.

This kind of mindful making offers you a chance to rest from the demands of everyday life.

Slow stitching can be restorative because it asks very little of us. It is time to be present, to make, and to enjoy the simple pleasure of doing something slowly.

Fancy giving slow stitching a go?

My workshops are a chance to spend some time away from screens and busy schedules, here’s what is coming up in October:

👉🏼 An Introduction to Slow Stitching: making a meditation roll
Friday 9 October
10.00am - 1.00pm

👉🏼 Exploring Slow Stitching
Saturday 17 October
10am-4pm

👉🏼 Narrative Slow Stitching
Saturday 24 October
10am-4pm

To book email [email protected] or text 077 177 57 381 with your details with the date and workshop you'd like to join.

Cake....there's always homemade cake!

My workshops aren't just about sewing, they offer a quiet place to connect with yourself, and other people. And, cake is a great way to oil the conversation!

Whether you need gluten free, or vegan, everyone can have a slice of the action....here's what else you can expect from workshop sessions:

🍰 Suitable for beginners - no sewing experience needed at all.
🍰 Maximum of 8 people per workshop, so lots of 1 to 1 support
🍰 Includes materials, drinks and homemade cake

PS. apologies for the shop bought cake in this photo and video ...unlike when I plan a workshop I had no time to bake the day of the shoot

I can't believe that in the last 7 days I've had over 80 visitors to my online exhibition!

Thank you to all those who have taken the time to take a look around, like and comment on my pieces.

And if you've not visited the exhibition will still be there for a few more weeks, so why not take a look?

This was such a lovely mini-photoshoot with Katy Howe recently. My hair was definitely doing its own thing!

And it took ages to get those sheep facing the right way!

However, the sheep are relevant in this scenario;

🐑 They don't worry about getting things right.
🐑 They aren't comparing themselves with the sheep next door.
🐑 They're just living in the moment.

That's exactly the spirit I hope people find in my workshops.

👩🏼‍🎨 You don't need to be artistic.
🧵 You don't need to know how to sew.
🪡 Nobody is judging your stitches.

Come along to a mindful making session and you’ll spend time noticing nature, enjoying the garden, stitching at your own pace and letting go of the idea that everything has to be perfect. My aim is that you leave feeling rested, recharged and having rediscovered your creative flow.

Last weekend I opened the doors for Sew Nature, my first exhibition, and what an amazing experience it has been! Over 40 people came to visit the cabin, studio and garden and it was such a joy to share my work and chat with so many lovely people.

All of my work is hand stitched using preloved or found materials and I often use plants from my garden to naturally dye the fabrics. I’ve been emotional to see that almost all of the work sold! Knowing that my pieces will now hang in other people's homes is very special feeling.

A huge thank you to everyone who came along, bought a piece, or simply took the time to visit.
