What Antifa means to me

If death comes for me I shall not weep
For life is fleeting and brief
For they who speak and they who cry shall always bring grief.

Yet speech and cries are what we need
For freedom to succeed
For if the world is to last
We have a need to call for one and all

To die when it is my time
And travel to another land
For me is reason for joy and love
For happiness and laughter

For my mind of which I am to speak
Is one of which is far from weak
I laugh, I cry, I speak my truth
For all that is in my roots

Yet for all my speech and love and joy
There is a day for which I weep
The days draws near with hate and fear
With love and joy running clear.

For the day when freedom dies
Is the day for which I weep.

So this one is called The Time We Forget
Written May 4th 2024

Everyone remembers the flower,
The beauty and effortless grace,
Full of colour and delightful aromas
We all know what happens when a flower dies
How it's petals wilt and leaves fall to the ground

But no one remembers the time the petals take to float down as if time itself has slowed
Back and forth, gently rocking on the wind
Sharing it's final moments

Everyone says God picks the best of us
Like we pick the prettiest flowers
Our souls are too alike to flowers for that analogy
We float downwards too,
Before we go where we belong

Drifting on the wind, rocking back and forth gently for as long as we're remembered because each one of us is full of personality and an amazing array of colours until the day our names are spoken no more

This one is very close to my heart, it was written about some things I have genuinely experienced as a disabled LGBT+ person.

If you can't see me then you don't speak for me

Written circa April 2025

A revolution is coming, no matter what
Not everyone can take part
Not everyone is able to

Often we're told to do more
That we're a burden
Yet when we can, we're told that we should stay home if we can't do even more

I'm told that I'm a re**rd
That I need a cure so I'm not a burden
I get told that I'm worthless
I get spoken over while being spoken to

Ignored while standing in the room.
Like I'm invisible to those who are "trying to help"

To speak on my behalf, you first need to see me
To see me, you need to listen to me
To hear my side, my good days and my bad
To understand me, you cannot ignore or speak over me.

I don't need a cure

I don't need to do more or stay at home constantly
What I need is for people to listen
To not forget that I exist
To not be left behind

Because if you cannot see me, you cannot speak for me.
And if you cannot see me, I WILL NOT LET YOU SPEAK FOR ME

This one was based on a prompt I was given while at Bangor University Writer's Guild

It's called Love In Years Gone By

Shall thy world stop, should I pass?
As mine would for you dear Alexander

For thy love is all I crave
Yet thee love another
Here in this dreary world
A heart can yearn and weep simultaneously

That God should put thee on this Earth to live another
I could not bear

Your eyes shine like the stars in the heavens and your face is truly that of the Lord himself

Yet I know thine eyes will not show care if I reveal myself to you, share my love with the world

So I must be content to love thineself from afar

When all you have is you
Written circa May 2022

I never knew what I could do
Then I looked up at you in my mirror
I saw what I've been through
Realised what I could do

If I could do anything I put my mind to
Then why can't you?
You don't need to be different then who you are

Despite the whole world saying you do
Despite your own mind saying it too
Sometimes I know how you feel
But others, when I look in the mirror and see you, I wonder how you made it through

All that happened, all that someone did to you, all that you put yourself through alone
And then I remember I was never alone because I had you

I'm sorry for what I put you through when all I had was you.

Hi everyone

Sorry I've been inactive since my first post, I've been really busy.

Over the next few days I will be doing a dump post session where I will be sharing as many poems that I've written as I can but I want to start with one I wrote years ago now under a different pen name: Acceptance is a Choice

Acceptance is a choice
And one that I intend to make
For my brothers and my sisters
For everything alive
The path I choose defines me
In a way in which I'm proud
As I for stand with those
Whose plight needs our help

I choose to accept your race
I choose to accept your religion
I choose to accept your patriotism
I choose to accept your genders
I choose to accept your choice
I choose a world of love
I choose a world of peace

This is the world I wish for but it has yet pass
So I choose to fight those plights,
Of race, of gender, of religion, of love, of equal rights, of ending war, of safe food and water, of victims and survivors, of the disabled, of the overlooked, of the disadvantaged, and of the poor.

For until their plights are resolved, they shall be mine too, and I think that they should become the plights of us all.

Dear President Trump

You were scared of us before
And we responded by showing kindness and respect
Now you've really pi**ed us off which you're gonna regret
We wont stay silent and hand out free food this time
This time we'll shout and we'll scream from the rooftops and down in the streets
Where ever we'll be heard there's no welcome for you.

My people? My people are kind and loving but we know when to stop
When to take up arms for what's right against what's wrong
So we'll shout and we'll scream from the roof tops and down in the streets
"No more" we'll say "no more human rights will you take"
We'll help with the fight for what's good and right

You say you're doing this out of morals and beliefs but we were raised knowing your beliefs and all they teach is to love and respect.
So we'll shout and we'll scream from the rooftops and down in the streets
We beat fascism once

and history's on repeat.
