Creativity Comes in Many Forms at AIR

At Arts in Redditch (AIR), we believe creativity should be accessible to everyone. As a charity dedicated to supporting participation in the arts, we welcome all forms of creative expression and are proud to have a thriving community of over 100 members who share a passion for making, learning, and creating.

One of the many benefits of AIR membership is our free monthly meet-ups, where members come together to share ideas, learn new skills, and support one another on their creative journeys.

And it's not just about traditional drawing and painting!

This month, our members explored the fascinating art of weaving and braiding using a lucet, a medieval (or Viking-era) braiding tool that creates beautiful decorative cords. We also enjoyed some wonderful peer-to-peer learning, with members sharing their crocheting skills and inspiring others to try something new.

A big ‘thank you’ to our friends at Oakmans Estate Agents, who recently chose Arts in Redditch as their charity of the week, with a donation of £250. Here’s some of the team at the Palace Theatre, showing off some original artwork. Great to see our contribution to the local community - directly and through Reimagine Redditch - being recognised.

THE biggest ever Worcestershire Open Studios Art Week will take place from 22–31 August, with more than 180 artists and makers will open their studios and creative spaces across the county, offering visitors the chance to meet the artists, see how work is made and buy directly from the people who create it. Art Week is free to visit, with many new venues taking part this year.
