👶💗 Hey Baby! 💙👣

This week’s Visible Image Design Team theme is ‘Celebrate!’ and what could be more worth celebrating than the arrival of a beautiful new baby? 🥰

Lorraine’s friend recently welcomed a baby girl, so Baby Love was the perfect stamp set for this sweet card. The design is simple, quick to make and easily adapted for a boy or a girl, and can easily made in a DL format.

Here’s how Lorraine created it:

✂️ Step by Step ⬇️

1. Create the background
Cut a piece of card to 5¼” square.

2. Stamp the tiny prints 👣
Using Versafine Clair Baby Pink, randomly stamp the handprints and footprints across the panel. Using an acrylic block rather than a stamp positioner means each print lands slightly differently, giving every card its own character.

3. Add the mat
Mat the stamped panel onto metallic pink foil card, leaving a narrow border.

No pink foil card? No problem! A coordinating pink cardstock works just as well.

4. Create the sentiment
Stamp the sentiments in Versafine Onyx Black, then clear heat emboss them.

Cut the individual words out at deliberately wonky angles for a fun, playful look.

5. Add the coloured edging
Glue the sentiment pieces onto scraps of the pink foil card and trim around them, leaving a narrow pink border.

6. Assemble
Adhere the stamped panel to a square card blank, then pop the sentiment up using thin foam tape for a little dimension.

💙 Make it a boy!

The same design works beautifully for a baby boy. Lorraine simply swapped the Baby Pink ink for Versafine Clair Arctic to create the blue version.

And because this is such a quick design, it’s perfect for making multiples…same design, but each one slightly different. 💗💙

🔥 Rise from the ashes… 🪽✨

Rachel has created a little bit of mythical magic for this week’s DT project, featuring the fabulous Phoenix Rising stamp set and Seeing Stars stencil.

The Phoenix is such a powerful image…destruction, transformation and starting again. Rachel wanted to capture that feeling with a background that feels smoky, fiery and vibrant, while keeping the beautiful gold Phoenix as the star of the show.

Here’s how she created it…

🎨 Step by Step

1. Create the background
Spray white card with Kitsch Flamingo, Shaded Lilac, Salvaged Patina, Saltwater Taffy and Squeezed Lemonade Distress Spray Stains. Add water droplets with a mister and allow the colours to react and blend.

2. Add the stars
Place the Seeing Stars stencil over the background and smooth Distress Opaque Grit Paste through the stencil. Repeat a second time to build up the texture, then remove the stencil and leave it to dry completely.

3. Create the Phoenix
Stamp the Phoenix from Phoenix Rising onto white card using Versamark ink. Heat emboss with WOW! Superfine Metallic Gold Rich embossing powder, then carefully fussy cut the image.

4. Create the sentiment
Stamp the sentiment onto black card with Versamark and heat emboss using the same metallic gold embossing powder. Fussy cut it out and mount it onto a piece of white card.

5. Add the smoky finish
Spritz the background with Fossilized Amber Distress Spritz Spray, then splatter with white ink for extra atmosphere.

Ink the edges of the Phoenix and the card panel with Black Soot Distress Ink to create that smoky, slightly charred effect.

6. Assemble the card
Mount the background onto black card and then onto a white card blank. Add the Phoenix and sentiment using 3D foam mounts and acrylic glue.

7. Finish with sparkle ✨
A few strategically placed sparkly gems add just the right amount of magic.

💡 Rachel’s Top Tip: A blending brush is perfect for building up smoky areas around your artwork. Start lightly and gradually build the depth…it’s much easier to add more than to take it away!

✨ A little bit of magic and a clever bit of cutting! ✨

Chiara created this gorgeous background using Lindy’s Magical Shakers, then drew around the Cubic Stencil in pencil.

Using stamps from Catch a Star and Carefree Days, she added the images before carefully cutting out the pencil squares with a craft knife. The background was then matted onto black cardstock, with the cut-out squares popped back into place using foam pads for fabulous dimension.

And to finish? One of the Carefree Days sentiments. 💫

Such a clever technique…and proof that a simple grid can become something really special! ❤️

👣 Baby Love, with a splash of colour! 💛💜

Who says baby cards have to be all soft pastels? Jeanette has created these gorgeous cards using Baby Love stamp set, combining bright, vibrant colours with a touch of metallic embossing.

Here’s how she made them ⬇️

1. Stamp the footprints
Stamp the baby footprints using Versafine Clair ink in bright colours. Jeanette chose yellow/orange and pink/purple combinations, then added clear embossing.

2. Add the sentiments
Stamp the sentiments with Versamark ink and heat emboss using gold and silver embossing powders.

3. Create the frame
Trim the stamped panels and draw a loose, scribbly frame around each one using a black fine-liner pen.

4. Mount the panels
Attach the panels to black cardstock using glue or double sided tape.

5. Make the card bases
Choose cardstock to complement your stamped colours and create your own card blanks. Jeanette used high-quality cardstock from Arden Creative Studio.

Bold colour choices make these baby cards anything but ordinary! 💛💜👣

🖤 RESIST. SPRAY. STAMP. REPEAT.

Chiara has turned a simple tag into a little piece of mixed media magic.

She blended Vaseline through the Puzzle stencil to create the resist, then hit it with acrylic sprays for that gorgeous layered background.

The statement flower from Where Flowers Bloom was stamped in black and clear embossed, with smaller stamps scattered across the tag to build even more texture and interest.

Vellum sentiments, a touch of distressing and a larger tag underneath bring the whole thing together.

Bold. Textured. A little bit grungy. And seriously effective. 🔥

🎈 SAME STAMPS, NEW LOOK!

After making her masculine T-shirt card for her previous Design Team post, Shirley decided to leave the stamps in her MISTI and create a softer, more feminine version using the same design.

Keeping the colour palette monochromatic, she added shades of pink, a touch of sparkle and plenty of bold typography. 💕✨

HERE’S HOW SHIRLEY MADE IT:

1. Create the background
Shirley stencilled pink Distress Inks through the Sixty Four stencil onto pale pink card to create a soft, tonal background.

2. Stamp the sentiments
She placed the panel into her MISTI and stamped the background sentiments from Birthday Wishes using Versafine Onyx Black.

3. Trim and layer
Shirley trimmed the stamped panel and mounted it onto a folded pale pink card base.

4. Add the balloon
She die-cut a star balloon from pink glitter card using the star balloon die from the Birthday Balloons die set.

5. Finish with dimension
Pink and white baker’s twine was added to the balloon before Shirley attached it to the card front with foam dots.

The monochromatic colour scheme keeps the card clean and easy on the eye, while the black sentiments really stand out.

And because the stamps were already positioned in the MISTI, Shirley was able to create this second version in no time! 💕🎈✨

🌼 SUPER SWINGING! 💙

Fancy folds are one of those things that look complicated but are actually surprisingly easy once you understand the mechanism - and Lorraine has brought back a favourite with this gorgeous 6” square swing-fold card!

She’s used Daisy Days, the Windows stencil and a sentiment from Best Birthday Ever, combining crisp black stamping, beautiful blues and touches of metallic gold. ✨

[Process] ⬇️

🌼 STEP 1. Make the card base.
Start with a 12” square of card and cut it into two 6” × 12” pieces.

Score one piece at 6” to create the outer card blank.

Score the second piece at 3”, 6” and 9”, then fold it mountain, mountain, valley to create the swing mechanism.

🌼 STEP 2. Create the window
Cut a square from the centre of the card front using nesting square dies or a paper trimmer.

Cut your matting layers, plus two pieces measuring 5¾” × 2¾” for the inside.

🌼 STEP 3. Assemble the mechanism
Glue the section of the mechanism from the valley fold to the edge onto the inside back of the card blank.

Adhere the quarter section at the opposite end to the front frame, tucking the edge into the centre crease.

Then attach the square cut from the window onto the mechanism - only glue it to the right-hand side of the fold line so it can swing!

🌼 STEP 4. Add the stencilling
Blend Salty Ocean Distress Ink through the Windows stencil onto the mat layers, leaving the front piece unstencilled.

🌼 STEP 5. Create the focal panel
Using Daisy Days, stamp and heat emboss the centre panel and petals.

Finish the flower centre with metallic gold paint and add some gorgeous gold splatter.

🌼 STEP 6. Decorate the remaining panels
Use the smaller stamps from the set to add detail to the other panels, again finishing with gold splatter.

The sentiment from Best Birthday Ever is the perfect size for the front frame.

🌼 STEP 7. Put it all together!
Glue all your stamped and stencilled layers into position - and you’re done!

And just look at that mechanism when the card is opened out! 😍

You can also adapt this design to a rectangular card, or simply scale it up or down to suit your project.

Fancy folds don’t have to be complicated - sometimes they just need a little swing! 💙🌼

GRUNGY TEXTURE & WINGS 🖤💙💚

Autumn is almost here in the UK 🍂 A new school term awaits, as does a very special birthday for Rachel’s best friend!

For this week’s DT make, Rachel has created this grungy masculine birthday card, combining the brilliant Dragonfly Reflection & Go To Words stamp sets with the Atmospheric stencil.

We love the inky background, fabulous texture and those beautifully layered dragonfly wings! 🖤💙💚

BACKGROUND

• Spray Uncharted Mariner and Peeled Paint Distress Spray Stains onto white card. Spray generously with water and allow the colours to disperse.

• Stamp the dragonfly from Dragonfly Reflection onto the background using Versafine Clair Nocturne black ink. Heat emboss with WOW Superfine Clear Gloss embossing powder.

• Add the circle elements randomly using Uncharted Mariner and Peeled Paint Distress Ink.

STENCILLING

• Place the Atmospheric stencil over the background and smooth Distress Opaque Grit Paste through it. Repeat a second time for extra texture.

• Remove the stencil and leave to dry completely.

• Once dry, edge the background with Peeled Paint Distress Ink.

STAMPING

• Stamp the dragonfly and additional wings onto white card using Versafine Clair Nocturne. Heat emboss with WOW Superfine Clear Gloss embossing powder and fussy cut.

• Colour using Uncharted Mariner and Dusty Concord Distress Ink, then add a touch of Wink of Stella for sparkle.

SENTIMENT

• Stamp a sentiment from Go To Words onto black card using Versamark.

• Heat emboss with WOW Superfine Opaque Bright White embossing powder and fussy cut.

FINISHING TOUCHES

• Spray the background with Uncharted Mariner Distress Spritz and add some white ink splatters.

• Mount onto black card and then a white card blank.

• Add the dragonfly, wings and sentiment using 3D foam mounts and acrylic glue.

• Finish with a selection of black sparkly gems for that extra grungy impact. 🖤

RACHEL’S TOP TIP 🪰

Don’t glue the dragonfly wings flat! Use foam mounts in the centre of the wings and leave the edges free. This gives them incredible dimension and makes the dragonfly really come to life.

✨ HOPE SHINES BRIGHTER THAN FEAR ✨

A little bit of magic from Chiara! 💫

Using the Squared stencil, she blended Picked Raspberry, Faded Jeans and Wilted Violet Distress Inks, adding water flicks to create that beautiful, dreamy texture.

She then stamped Star Girl and stars from the Inner Glow stamp set in VersaMark, heat embossed them in silver and fussy cut them ready to layer onto the background. More stars were stamped directly onto the card before finishing with that gorgeous sentiment and a final sprinkling of silver ink.

A little sparkle, a little magic and a whole lot of hope. ✨

🌻 A little bit of summer sunshine! ☀️

After such a wonderful, sunshine filled summer, Jane wanted to create a card that captured some of those happy summer memories…and what better way than with a whole lot of sunflowers!

For this card, Jane used the Sunflower Grunge stamp set, kraft card and Prismacolor pencils to create a lovely retro, summery feel.

Here’s how she made it:

🌻 Step 1: Stamp the sunflower head repeatedly around the edges of the kraft card using dark brown ink.

🌻 Step 2: Cover the stamped images with clear embossing powder and heat emboss. This gives the border a lovely raised finish and really makes those sunflower heads stand out.

🌻 Step 3: Stamp the full sunflower and leaves in the centre of the card.

🌻 Step 4: Colour all the images with Prismacolor pencils, adding warm yellows and oranges to the petals and vibrant greens to the leaves.

🌻 Step 5: Add one of the happy sentiments from the set towards the top of the card.

🌻 Step 6: Finish by layering the panel onto yellow and kraft card before adding it to the card blank.

The finished card really does feel like a little snapshot of those oh-so-sunny summer days of 2026. 💛

Sometimes the best memories are the simplest ones…sunshine, flowers and happy days. 🌻
