Every new venture is built not only on ideas and hard work but also on the encouragement and support of people who are willing to believe in it.

I started Desh-দেश not as reselling platform but as a platform to uplift the cultural heritage of India in UK and started with only converting fabrics into canvas ..

There is a huge list of people whose trust has been a source of motivation and inspiration, and it strengthens my commitment to building something meaningful and impactful.

One such person is Paromita Goswami paro_gswmi , she stepped in an year back as customer and turned out to be a friend , one who blindly puts her trust on me and just picks up the saree I suggest even without a second thought

Bihar at Parampara — through the hands of an artist ….

We are delighted to welcome Desh by Poulami, representing Bihar at Parampara by Aadi Shakti – The Heritage Carnival.

The creator behind Desh, Poulami, has found herself at the crossroads of shared cultures of Bengal and Bihar, by the sweet blessings of fate; which made her find the perfect connection with Madhubani art — one of Bihar’s most treasured folk traditions.

What makes her work so special is that it is deeply personal. Poulami paints Madhubani herself — on paper, canvas and fabric — bringing patience, colour, detail and devotion into every creation. At Parampara, she will bring a thoughtful collection of hand-painted drawings, sarees, clothing, and a a range of handmade jewellery crafted exclusively by her.

Through Desh, Bihar will not be represented only as a region.
It will be represented as art, as adaptation, as family, as love, and as the beautiful way one culture can become part of another person’s life.
