For the person out there who looks at their wardrobe and wishes it didn't just look like everyone else's.... The one who craves tactility, visual layering and embellishment. I got you!

Because life is waaaay too short for boring clothes and bags!

I recently got my hands on some gorgeous vintage cotton and knew that it would be perfect to make a patchwork applique patch. I've always loved beetles and the stag or Staghorn Beetle is one of my favourites.

Around 6 inches square and backed with recycled denim for a dynamic, impactful addition to clothing as an applique embellishment or a sturdy patch to creatively mend a large tear in denim or similar.

My contribution to the IdentityLeathercraft summer leather event tile exhibition at the Whitworth Centre in Derbyshire this weekend. The tile was provided and the challenge was to decorate it. This is my first 3D leather piece!

I've been walking past those grotty meter boxes for 3 months now and realised that I a) have exterior paint, b) have free will and c) am an artist so why not use them as a canvas.

It's been a colourful day today! I dusted off my set of fluorescent paints and spent the last few hours playing with my new culinary squeegee, paint, paper, leather and printing blocks. There are paintings, veg tan leather buttons, and a range of veg tan leather brooches once I've finished them.

Off to find my sunglasses or else sit in a darkened room to give my eyes a rest 🤣

Colour is the ultimate antidote to feeling crappy! Embracing my maximalist side today. Squishy toys are my sensory nemesis but I loved carving the 2d version! The frame is hand painted in neon red, orange and green for an extra dopamine hit.

What I love about using small blocks is that I have the freedom to make different compositions with a completely different vibe. Two leaf blocks can be a pile of leaves dancing in the wind - or the densely foliated branches of a hawthorn hedge. Lively, vibrant and encapsulating the joy of the green haze appearing in the hedgerows as the annual herald of spring.

My accepted submission for the upcoming Squares exhibition at in Sheffield later this month.

The brief was square art, no larger than 8 inches square including the frame, so I'm looking forward to seeing lots of lovely small works!

A few pieces from my new lino print collections - mainly exploring botanicals from cottage garden and hedgerow spaces. All are available on the usual channels and could make lovely presents for your mum if so inclined! All are one off monoprints made from multiple hand carved blocks and printed onto deliciously textured cotton rag paper.

Today the spring is springing and the sun is shining and the sky is finally blue. It's good to see the back of another winter.
