What I love about using small blocks is that I have the freedom to make different compositions with a completely different vibe. Two leaf blocks can be a pile of leaves dancing in the wind - or the densely foliated branches of a hawthorn hedge. Lively, vibrant and encapsulating the joy of the green haze appearing in the hedgerows as the annual herald of spring.

My accepted submission for the upcoming Squares exhibition at in Sheffield later this month.

The brief was square art, no larger than 8 inches square including the frame, so I'm looking forward to seeing lots of lovely small works!

A few pieces from my new lino print collections - mainly exploring botanicals from cottage garden and hedgerow spaces. All are available on the usual channels and could make lovely presents for your mum if so inclined! All are one off monoprints made from multiple hand carved blocks and printed onto deliciously textured cotton rag paper.

Today the spring is springing and the sun is shining and the sky is finally blue. It's good to see the back of another winter.

Lovely day out visiting the Print Festival at Sunny Bank Mills today! Loved the scrap metal sheep out in the carpark and it was fab being in the footsteps of the illustrious Sewing Bee. A couple of pieces I liked in the gallery and a nice little haul of goodies that I purchased. Card with the heron was one my son liked. A pretty coaster by . A gorgeous printed plywood house brooch by . And last but not least a generous selection of collage-able offcuts from which I will enjoy playing with in due course.

I had some great conversations in the main print room and helpful advice from and the team up on the workshop space.

Saturday was Ian's birthday and we had a nice run over to Sheffield to the private view of 'Stone' and 'Sun, Moon and Stars' at in Orchard Square. It was lovely to see such beautiful pieces in one place and to chat to other contributors. Highly recommend a visit to the exhibition if you're in the area.

We called in at Fire in the Park on the way home - Mansfield's version of Light Night, and enjoyed the sights and sounds. Rainbow lights for the win!

Pleased to say I also have a second piece accepted by Fronteer Gallery for their upcoming exhibition 'Square' next month 🥳

Today I had the pleasure of visiting Sheffield in order to drop off one of my latest works which is showing in the exhibition 'Stone' toward the end of this month.

My piece is entitled Ammonite Cluster and is a multi block print on a roundel of handmade paper (made from recycled lino prints no less!) with gold ink highlights.

We also had mucho fun at George Barnsley's where we were able to browse a treasure trove of vintage tool stock and chat with Gemma who was very friendly and hospitable, so all in all a fab day despite the rain! ❤️

Bonus points if you can ID the photogenic fungi I spotted on the way back to the car...

Took the boyo out to the local Star Wars festival today. We sat outside in the sunshine and did some sketching of things we'd seen inside. Here is Grogu... Turned out better than I thought it might - he has a very unusual shaped head when you're used to drawing humans!
