Nature on the High Street - Sunday 7th June
Join us on Midsomer Norton High Street in the Market Square, on The Island, for a fun, drop-in art workshop during the Festival of Nature!
Little Lost Robot will be leading an art workshop on Sunday 7th June 9:30 - 12:30 where you can contribute to our sculptures of an oak tree, an under the river scene and a waxcap fungi grassland. Learn about how we are regenerating Midsomer Norton High Street and the nature that thrives here.
These sculptures will then be displayed on the high street and at the Midsomer Norton Town Fair on Saturday 11July.
There will also be a morning of music in The Hollies Garden with local bands and solo acts performing alongside school bands! With stalls doing art and crafts all related to the nature on the high street.
This is your chance to explore nature-inspired art in a relaxed, friendly setting. No need to book—just pop by and let your imagination run wild. Perfect for all ages and families who love a bit of hands-on creativity outdoors!
Don't forget to check out the Park Cinema: A Celebration of Nature on Screen event taking place later in the day, 15:00 - 18:00, in the Midsomer Norton Town Park Amphitheatre - https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/1987124301277?aff=oddtdtcreator

Tuesdays 11 - 3pm For Under 25s Blacksmithing and 1-2-1 artist support.

Our M/Others Ceramics sessions are very full, so we can’t take any newcomers this term. Sorry! If you have not been able to join us yet, send us a message so we can consider extending our offer of child supervision.

On Thursdays and Fridays we are based at 151 Locksbrook Road for Community Threads with Belinda. You can design and make your own projects with machine sewing, we have fabrics and patterns to use or you can bring your own.

Our studios are now closed for HALF TERM. We are open from 8 June at Old Printworks Arts and Community Threads sewing group resumes from 4 June at 151 Locksbrook Road in Bath.

For half term you can find our artists out in the wild at Somer Valley Rediscovered in Midsomer Norton and Radstock Fair on 31 May.

We are not yet continuously funded to run all of these resources. But we are committed to remaining active in our community in the long, long term. If you love what we do and want to support us we have a donations page with Ko-fi, linked in our bio.

Another day in the life. Here we are teaching Chief Executive of the Arts Council, the lovely Darren Henley, how to Blacksmith!

On Fridays our doors were open for young creatives to explore our workshops and discuss creative careers with our team.

Some tried out our new forge, just like Darren, under the guidance of Harry our Blacksmith, who is the newest addition to our team.

Our M/Others Ceramics sessions are very full, so we won’t be able to take any more newcomers this term. Sorry!

If you have not been able to join us yet and feel like you have missed out, please do send us a message so we can consider extending our offer of child supervision to an extra day of the week.

We can’t make any promises as yet, but we know all too well how valuable me-time is for isolated parents and carers of tiny ones. So if there is interest, we’ll give it a go on another day, to allow maker parents / carers to access our studios and make work, or try out new skills in the workshop. We are really approachable!

We are not yet continuously funded to run all of these resources, so we are beholden to project-by-project funding for now. But we are committed to remaining active in our community in the long, long term. If you love what we do and want to support us we have a donations page with Ko-fi, linked in our bio.

We are really proud of the tenacity and commitment of everyone involved in bringing this about in Radstock!

A lot of Trinity phase 1 and 2 works were essential to provide fire safety, compliance and make Trinity watertight protecting the building for the future. There is still a long way to go to realise the full plans. The design team have always had the same view of investing and ensuring best value for money while protecting and providing a space to be proud of. This was also something our amazing contractors Ken Biggs Contractors also took forward. Not only did they provide amazing support and advice to help us save money where necessary, they advised us when we needed to spend. The budget was tight but we achieved so much and came in perfectly on budget.

One set back was finding out the upper hall roof also needed replacing. Thanks to Big Local Radstock & Westfield who granted almost the last of their funds (£25,000) to complete this works while we had all the scaffolding and access.

You the community have supported in more ways than you know. Your thoughts, ideas and suggestions have shaped the plans and designs to make the space as flexible as possible to enable a host of activities for the future.
