Meet nature's most unexpected 'opera' singers! 🐒

New research has found that indri lemurs open their mouths wider to reach higher notes, just like human opera singers are trained to do.

Honorary research fellow at the University of Warwick, Dr Chiara De Gregorio, says the animals use “the kind of fine-tuned coordination between voice and body that we usually associate with trained human singers, not with a lemur”.

It is the first example of vocal-tract coordination found in a non-human primate.
