I haven’t had time to post my entry into Wildlife Artist of the Year so here it is, accompanied by a cuddly friend from the where I sponsor a pangolin.

Ever since watching the documentary Kulu’s Journey, I have been a bit obsessed with pangolins and wanted to draw or paint one. If you haven’t seen the documentary, I think it’s still streaming on Netflix but be warned - it’s hard to watch the fate that so many of these amazing creatures face.

I saw this cute green bee-eater on safari in Sri Lanka and it kept chasing our jeep. Each time we stopped, it would sit on the nearest branch and it felt like it was shouting at me to take its photo. I think I took about 100 photos but chose this one to paint back in my studio!

Started this drawing a few days ago but haven’t had time to post it. Now for the fun part!

This Asian green bee eater kept following our jeep on a safari in Sri Lanka and made us laugh as it was so inquisitive! It was the perfect poser for me to take lots of photos.

Still lots of work for me to do on it but I’m pleased so far.

Today is International Polar Bear Day so it reminded me of this quick watercolour and ink painting I did last year. I think I need to do another painting of a polar bear soon! Too many animals to paint and not enough time! šŸ»ā€ā„ļø šŸ˜šŸ»ā€ā„ļø
