Update: The organisers replaced my artwork but unfortunately four more have gone missing now!

Someone's only gone and stolen it!!

Last week I had the pleasure of having my artwork of Nick Park displayed in Preston town centre alongside loads of other artists outside the old BHS store😃. The whole thing has been organised by Garry Cook and Enjoy The Show and I'm thrilled to be part of it!

This is a bittersweet post though.

I was fortunate enough to go into town last weekend and have my photo taken with it (just look how happy I am😃) but unfortunately since then it's been stolen😔 I'm taking it as a compliment as someone liked it that much they wanted to take it home😂 However I would like it put back up so more people will get to see it.

If anyone happens to wander into someone's house and see a massive Nick Park portrait looking back at them then please let me know.

🥰

I'm pretty devastated about Matthew Perry as he was always my favourite character in Friends. The world was a better place for having him in it. Thank you for making me laugh xx

Elaine loves Halloween and horror movies so her brain naturally gravitates to twisted imagery. I have the pleasure of bringing some of them to life through art. I'm not saying I'm concerned about her mental well-being but I do sleep with one eye open.

Very sad news that football legend Sir Bobby Charlton passed away at the weekend. I don't follow football as a rule but I always like to do tribute portraits of those that had an incredible impact on people and the world in general.

I haven't been posting much recently as this time of year it takes a while for my mood to adjust to the shorter days and lack of sunshine. I've been working on commissions as well so that's been keeping me busy.

I thought I'd post a celebrity caricature seeing as Liam Gallagher is back in the news and he has such an interesting face, he's also an ideal subject to get me back into the swing of things.

This little octopus was skillfully created at the exhibition I attended the other week by Created by Claire Crawford . When I asked what it was called she couldn't come up with a name so we figured we'd let the internet decide.

Give us your best and most creative names!

Update:

After all the names (one per person) have been collected I'll put it to a vote and winning name will win a free head and shoulders caricature by me🙂

I'll give everyone until the end of Sunday 24th September to get entries in. Spread the word!

Here is another print that is part of 'The Preston Art Project'. Some of you may remember all the cars that were hitting the bollard in town by the train station, well I couldn't very well not dedicate an entire piece of artwork in its honour. I also recently found out that it has its own Twitter page😂

The Bollard

This piece depicts the now infamous Fishergate bollard which was attacking the cars of Preston in 2018 and 2019

A few unlucky drivers became stuck atop the bollard before having to be rescued from their fate. There was a call to arms and local authorities rallied and ousted the enemy from Preston saving countless cars from sure destruction.

You can still see remnants of the old bollards base outside the Army recruitment office, a now poignant reminder of what was a very turbulent time in the city's history.

You can see the other images in my collection at the link below🙂

As part of 'The Preston Art Project' here is my second artwork in the series. I launched this and 'The Bollard' on Saturday at the group exhibition I took part in.

Prince of Peace

Every city needs a hero and Preston has Wilfred the Lamb. This is my interpretation of the Preston coat of arms.

Historically the Lamb is the Lamb of St Wilfrid who is the Patron Saint of Preston and signifies the Prince of Peace or ‘lamb of god’. He is holding the cross and flag with a golden circle (the sun) behind his head as depicted in previous designs.

You'll also see in the background I have drawn several of Preston's most prominent and historical landmarks (from left to right) Preston Railway Station, Riversway Control Centre, Tulketh Mill Chimney and the Harris Museum.
