Knowsley Safari Warmly welcoming visitors for over 50 years. A stunning five mile safari drive, foot safari, events and talks on a wide variety of animals.

One of the biggest and best safari parks in the UK, Knowsley Safari Park has a 5-mile safari drive with lions, white rhino and our infamous troop of baboons. The park also has a large walk-around area, offering close-up views of

giraffe, tigers, meerkats and many more animals. The park is open daily from mid-February until November, and remains open weekends only throughout the winter. Did you know our Research & Conservation Team carries out small mammal monitoring right here at Knowsley Safari?

From April to September, our team and dedicated volunteers conduct surveys to monitor the native small mammals that call the safari home. Humane tube traps, filled with bedding and food, are placed out overnight before being checked the following morning.
Wood mice are our most common visitors, although we occasionally find bank voles and common shrews too!

Each animal is carefully identified and recorded before being safely released back into the wild. This important work helps us better understand and protect local wildlife populations.

Got a young animal lover at home? Our Kids Clubs are designed to inspire the next generation of wildlife champions through hands-on activities, animal encounters, outdoor adventures and behind-the-scenes experiences.

Whether they're taking their first steps into the world of wildlife or dreaming of a future career working with animals, there's a club for them:

🦓 Intrepid Explorers (ages 8–10)
🦒 Junior Rangers (ages 11–14)
🦏 Knowsley Academy (ages 15–18)

From little ones creating their own finger puppets and putting on performances at our puppet stages, to spinning the giant story spinners and dreaming up the funniest mixed-up characters and tales 🐸👑🐺

Families have been getting cosy for storytime inside the tipi, before heading off to snap a pic outside the Three Little Piggies’ house 🐷🏡📸
