Meet the Stars: The Dancer💃

"Hi! My name is Helen Macdonald, I'm 19 years old and I'm a student at the University of Portsmouth. Initially I expressed interest in the show as I loved the concept, I wanted to help with the technical elements and get involved. However, when I realised there was an opportunity for me to audition as a participant instead, I couldn’t stop thinking about becoming a dancer. The opportunity to dance with a trainer who will push me in all the right ways is just so incredibly exciting and meaningful to me, even more so to perform on such an impressive stage like the Kings Theatre. It's going to be so cool!"

"Hi, I'm India! I'm so excited to have been given this amazing opportunity. I really want to become more confident when performing in front of others as a soloist. I would also love to be able to build a better stage presence and conquer my nerves when on stage. I am really looking forward to working with my mentor on these areas and seeing the final results! I'm so excited about performing at such a beautiful venue too, bring it on!"

Meet the Stars: The Mentors💃

Izzy is a professional dancer and choreographer who lives in Portsmouth. Izzy graduated from The Brighton Academy in 2019, where she studied Musical Theatre.

Some of her performing credits include 'Godspell', 'Slice of Saturday Night', 'Little Shop of Horrors', 'Bring It On! The Musical' and music videos with Conor Maynard and The Shapeshifters.

Izzy also has a passion for choreographing and directing, founding “The Mazerine Effect”, a creative collective of performers based in Brighton where she directs and choreographs many projects.

“I can not wait to be a part of this project with the team and to help mentor someone with their dance skills and learning choreography. I love teaching my own students, especially helping them achieve all their dreams, so I know this is going to be a very special experience for me also as a mentor”

Meet the Stars: The Mentors 🎤

Zoey Southwell is a professional singer who lives in Portsmouth. She trained at Performers College in Essex where she went on to perform abroad for two years in the beautiful island of the Mallorca, touring the island with the stunning vocal female vintage harmony trio ‘The LovElles’.

Zoey now runs a vocal harmony duo called 'The Sunshine Sisters’ with fellow singing mentor Rachel, singing music throughout the decades, 40’s to now, in venues across Portsmouth

"I'm so excited to be a part of the show and working with the crew in providing and supporting someone that opportunity of improving their singing skills. At the same time, I'm going to learn so much from the experience! See you on the stage, I can't wait!"

Thank you to Lighting Technian Liz for her time in organsing a technical workshop in how the lighting rig works and the possibly ways to make everything shine - a lot of exciting planning to do!
