🚨NEW SAVE — THE RANGERS REVIVAL BEGINS!🚨
The call has come… and I’m taking charge at Scottish giants Rangers ahead of the 2007/08 season!🔵⚪️
I’ve been handed a two-year contract with one clear objective: bring the SPL title back to Ibrox.🏆
And there’s plenty of work to do.
Rangers have endured a frustrating couple of seasons, watching bitter rivals lift the league title while the trophy cabinet has remained quieter than expected. The Scottish Cup has also eluded the club for five seasons, while it’s been two seasons since the League Cup made its way back to Ibrox.
So the mission is simple: restore Rangers to the top of Scottish football.
💰The finances
There’s around £5.3m in the bank, with the chairman giving me a £4m transfer budget to strengthen the squad.
However, the wage bill is going to need some serious attention. We’re already sitting just £400 below the £336k-per-week wage budget, meaning there’s very little room for error when it comes to recruitment.
And then there’s the £16.5m loan debt, being paid back at £170k per month until 2021. So while we have money to spend, we’ll need to spend it wisely.
⚽️The Tactics
I’ll be setting the team up in a 4-1-2-2-1, looking to utilise width and create plenty of opportunities by getting the ball into dangerous areas from the flanks.
🎯Transfer priorities
The biggest priority is a strong centre-back who can walk straight into the starting XI and immediately improve the defence.
Beyond that, I’ll be looking for:
➡️ Right-wing cover
➡️ Full-back cover on both sides
➡️ Potential opportunities to reduce the wage bill and reshape the squad
This is a club that expects to win. The pressure is on, the rivals are waiting, and I’ve got two years to deliver.
The rebuild starts now.
